REPOST: To City Council:

I was in Derby and participated into some small talk and the issue of your upcoming decision of recycling and trash service come up.

I just wanted you to know that we all know what is the right thing to do is. Do whatever you can to continue the free trash service and forget the recycling program for now. It is the right thing to do and that is what the majority wants. You want to know how I know? Look at the recycling group, if recycling was such a important issue for our way of life here in Commerce City, we would have bunch of individuals that have loud voices and you do not need to cave into them!

Regardless of the recall effort let’s chip in 100.00 each to put huge billboard pictures of Paul Natale outside of locations frequented by racetrack, town clown and the rest of the green-eyed crew. Maybe they’ll get so angry they’ll MOVE.

Anonymous said...

Man oh man, you sure can throw stones!!
You certainly know a lot about people's personal lives.
How sad that you waste your time going after someone, what energy you waste.
Try spending that time using your own suggestion and find a way to make things better, not raking up the past to bad mouth someone!!

Anonymous said...

Recall has just a little bit more time to get the names in, will they do it? Or will it be one of these fizzilers, like the last 3 attempts?

Stay Tuned.

Anonymous said...

Wonder if Paul Natale can file suit against the members of the recall committee for slander with emphasis on rene bullock since he made the video. All claims appear unsubstantiated and came across as personal attacks given the history of jealousy and the fact that Paul alone was singled out by the group. Any attorneys out there?

Anonymous said...

At least Richard Ford signs his name, so what he says, he takes responsibility for.
Unlike a number of people.

Anonymous said...

Wow, I just heard that the recall committee turned in 917 signatures. Sounds like they were serious. Maybe all of you talking trash should think about it.

Anonymous said...

Hinkley was serious too, but crazy as a loon.
For people bit--ing about the cities finances, something the council works on, now we can spend 30,000. on a stupid election to satisfy a sore looser.
If our city is that stupid, well I think the old, stupid is a stupid does, fits quite well!

Anonymous said...

The city doesn't have to spend any money on an election. Paul should just resign. He is the one who is costing the city money. It doesn't have anything to do with anyone being a sore loser. Stop wining. We need new leadership. Save $30,000.00 and resign.

Anonymous said...

917 signatures is really something to take seriously! Even if the election doesn't happen, The city really needs to look at what the real situation is.

Note to Mayor: I hope that you realize that you really have a issue that needs to be addressed even if the election does not go thru.

Anonymous said...

I'm willing to bet most signatures were fraudulent. The members pushing the recall should just move from our city.

Here we go again. It's the mayor thats costing the city!
Interesting theory since 9 people make the decisions.
Nine people vote on everything.
We are paying the price for the bad management, crooked politics and tons of free spending that wnet on in our city, before the economy took a dive.
Remember Ford's interview about the pens, "if Mr. Vandeventer has the money in his budget, I don't have a problem with it". How quickly people forget. Free lunches on the cities credit card, free patios building, with labor from the employees board of the water board. Embarassing stories about hookers, massages, tickets, racetrack deals.
Yea that new mayor he is different and doesn't go by the "old" insider rules!
He certainly doesn't fit their mold and should resign!!

Anonymous said...

My bet:
There is at least one if not two "sheep's in wolves clothing" on the council.
I've been watching and listening and it's pretty obvious.
Watch out little red riding hood, it isn't grandma in the bed!

Can anyone verify that Dr. Lange was actually fired? Lots of rumors but want to hear the truth?

Anonymous said...

The CBS News reported this morning that Dr. Lange had been terminated and his replacement had already been named, altho I can't remember her name.

Anonymous said...

Yes the drug felony school board member got rid of Dr. Lange. I guess it was lack of responsibility. Got to Love Commerce City.

Anonymous said...

I can not beleive that the District 14 school board members would get rid of Dr. Lange. Is it because of Community Leadership Academy? Is Robert Vashaw voting to get rid of him because of a personal grudge?

ANYONE? ANYONE?

Anonymous said...

Dr. Lange has done very good things for this school district. But it is time for him to move on. We need someone new to move this school district in a positive direction.

New High School, New Leadership

Anonymous said...

You people are unbelievable. Maybe there are council members that don't want to be ordered around anymore and standing up for themselves. Shame on you to say they are "sheep's in wolves clothing". Maybe they don't want to sink with the ship and they are starting to see that the ship in sinking.

Anonymous said...

No matter what you think, It is still impressive that the recall effort was able to get 900 plus signatures. It should be take seriously.

Council needs to take action on a resolve action items, where this will not happen again.

Anonymous said...

It has more with trying to sink the ship.
This or these wolves are pretending to be someone they are not.
Nice on the outside and sneaky in private.
That is not admirable or classy!!

Anonymous said...

I see it as the boat being tossed in a storm, some working to keep it stable, others punching holes in it!

Anonymous said...

well, whatever it is we need a different course of action. and we need it soon.

Anonymous said...

Maybe a healer could come in and bless our city, then we could be the only one in the state not hit by the economic downturn.
Actually that could work, because it might rid us of those negative people at the same time!

Anonymous said...

Bottom Line, are we going to be okay?

Anonymous said...

Also I thought I read in the Commerce City Beacon that the Adams County School Board District 14 said that Dr. Lange has done lots of good things for the school district.

So why fire him?

How many of the current school board members were actually for the new high school?

Anyone? Anyone?

Anonymous said...

I think everyone should re-read the q&a that Angela did for the Gateway News.

Very Interesting.

So it looks like Dr. Lange will not be present at the opening day of the new school?

Anonymous said...

We are going to be more than okay, if people stop putting lies and negative information out there.
It degrades our city and puts us in a bad light.
I see us going in the right direction

Anonymous said...

Dr Lange was treated like trash, but what can you expect when the you look at who's in charge.
Kind of like mental patients running the hospital.
Why do people ignore what they are doing to our kids?

Anonymous said...

Commerce City will be okay. We are not the only city that has budget issues or shortfalls. It is a different world that we live in. We need to be fluid and all understand that we are being effected by everything around us. We do not have a choice of the events that are happening all around us. This is only my 2 cents, but it really does ring true.

Anonymous said...

It must have been a great day for former CLA board member robert to fire dr. lange.

What a bunch of crap.

Anonymous said...

The board of education at Adams County School District 14 has fired veteran superintendent Dr. John Lange effective immediately.

The board voted 3-2 Tuesday night to immediately terminate Lange's contract, which was not due to expire until June 2009.

The board appointed Dr. Sue Chandler as interim superintendent. She currently serves as the district's chief academic officer.

Anonymous said...

I know why the board of education in Adams county district 14 did this, I just want to know what they are going to tell the media.

Anonymous said...

I live in 27J but I am concerned about DIstrict 14 because it is part of Commerce City. I think this has been a plan for a while. A plan in the making to Fire Dr. Lange for maybe as far back as when the new board was seated.I read Angela's answers to the gateway news questions. and I think they should be posted here for everyone to see.

I think the gateway news should do another question and answer. they seem to be able to hit the big stories before they happen.

Good Job Gaeway News

Anonymous said...

Anyone hear anything about the recall? Or is that whole thing over now?

Anonymous said...

Word on the street is about 1/3 of their signatures were not valid.
Looks like it's over.

Anonymous said...

Recall over, now we go onto the Dr. Lange issue. Anyone know if recall of D-14 will become reality?

Anonymous said...

Damn I hope so, 3 Adams County school district 14 members are nuts!

Those reasons are just crazy, the embellezment was a long time ago, why not act on it then?

Budget? what about CLA? take out a couple of million and then except the staff to just magically bring it back to what it was before. Oh and yes, the board was the one to bring CLA into the district.

Unreal! What a bunch of jack asses

Last question, I wonder how many of the current school board members are actually for the new high school?

Gateway News: I strongly think you should do a q&A, I know you eill not get far but I know there is more to this then what we are all seeing.

Anonymous said...

I wish to thank the Citizens of Commerce City for believing in me and not the Lies and DECEPTIONS of the recall committee.

I welcome the committee members to focus their efforts and energy by volunteering with one of the many positive organizations working to improve our city.

Mayor Paul Natale

Anonymous said...

How the hell did the gateway news get the school board on youtube?

Anonymous said...

Finally, people are starting to see Richard Ford and Angela Kreutzer for who they really are.
They are not pillars of the community they are, in fact, the communities downfall.
If Angela wants to be on a School Board maybe she should run for the one in the county she lives in.

Anonymous said...

Isn't it amazing what we have allowed to happen in this district. I agree it is time for a change, and the changing needs to start at the top. Kudo's to the BOE for taking the first step. Now just keep it going. I also think it's time for little Miss Angela to step down. I've heard she's registered to vote in Jefferson County, which means she has to live there. If she's not living in and county and she's registered to vote there then that's Fraud and someone needs to contact the Jefferson County Election Commission and give them a heads up.

Anonymous said...

Someone please tell me that the "recall committee members" have planted the for sale signs in their yards. They've made it clear they're only out to harm our city.

Anonymous said...

Well two of the board members now don't seem highly qualified either.
We have a convicted felon and an ex-bus driver!
The third's qualifications is his wife works for the district!

Anonymous said...

One thing I don't get about District 14, how does the charter school get to build the new building? They were voted down by the citizens. Guess that vote was only a suggestion??
Seems the board is working towards a no accountability position.

Anonymous said...

Video is on youtube, but gateway news did not do it, it was some other news group, gatewaynews is just resourceful.

What did Dr. Lange do so bad? Did we just have 7 years of CSAP growth? But more to the point, didn't the Beacon run a artitcle with Lewis in it stating that Lange has done numerous of good things for the district?

I dont get it, maybe they are drugs? oh wait that would be true at one point in time.

CLA builds school and has more problems then D-14, Vashaw was part of that whoe mess, how many princicpals did they go thru?

What a mess!

Anonymous said...

he's being penalized for the illegal immigrant population explosion and I hope he sues the district ands city for every dime they have. If I or any citizen get picked for the jury he's going to bankrupt the system.

Anonymous said...

Hi. if you would like to know about Adams 14 Schools all you have to do is call me. 303-717-3914
i will meet you for a cup of coffee.
Robert Vashaw

Anonymous said...

Everyone is so concerned about poor Dr. Lange - well I would say Dr. Lange shot himself in the foot. By aligning himself with the Three Stooges. Angela, Zeiler, and Ford. I would be ashamed to say these were the people I could control and puppet into doing as I pleased. When it appears they all don't have much going on upstairs. It's about time all this is coming out.

Anonymous said...

Three stooges is a great analogy, but it refers more closely to Lewis, Vashaw and Quintana. Watching the District fall further apart as they control it.
The support of CLA with its constant problems (embezzlement, continuous principle turnover, affairs and terrible CSAP scores) and the Stooges continous attack & threat on staff of the District is proof.
None of these people have a bit of business being on the BOE.
I feel most disturbed for our children, they must suffer what the outcome will be.
Lange worked hard to bring the distict up, which is a very difficult task. Now we can watch it collapse.

Anonymous said...

Watching the council streeming.
Is that Rene a trip or what?
He is totally obsessed about the mayor.
It's really ashame he has no life, but now it's actually almost funny to watch him.

Anonymous said...

I don't think the SD is collapsing, I think it is in the process of re-organizing for the better.

Anonymous said...

I remember and for those who don't a little reminder.
Janet Lewis joining some kids outside of a district meeting.
They were carrying signs, she thought against Lange.
She made a fool of herself, lifting one and chanting, only to realize they were there to SUPPORT him!!
She also NEVER worked with the Kids First campaign to get the new school, and only included herself later as a supporter to look good.
Don't forget who is really working for the children in District 14!!
Not reoginizing...disorganizing

Anonymous said...

Look for a council meeting to be held up north, possible in the Reunion Rec Center. Idea is to get the exposure to the north and thought is to make it easier for the people of the North to come out just down the road.

What do you think?

Also, Council no longer will meet in the "round table" setting in middle of the floor for study sessions, but look for study sessions to be more informal.

Anonymous said...

Yes, it does appear that Rene bullock is very hostile towards the mayor every since he lost the election. I think he started 4 or 5 recalls because he’s so jealous of Paul. Form conversations around the city, he’s lost the trust of a lot of people that supported him for what he’s been doing. Nothing’s true that he states as fact. What monetary costs does the city/county pay from these unwarranted recalls?

Anonymous said...

I agree.
Funny thing is many of his attacks on the mayor are about money. He complains that the mayor isn't careful about the city spending (which is council voted on), but wants to waste $28,000 on a recall.
He spent loads while on council for "personal benefit" and tried to get extra for his special interests.
He wastes staffs time on his petitions, reserching e-mails etc.
He just assumes that everyone has skeletons because he does.
Hopefully the citizens will wake up to his obsession.

Anonymous said...

A question for Richard Ford and John Ziler. should your dear friend Angela Kreutzer be able to VOTE in our School District? when she is a registered voter in Jefferson co? voter ID # 600038917

I know shes your friend so its OK to brake the law. and set a bad example for our kids.

Anonymous said...

I thought this blog was an anything goes, apparently not, someone just removed two of the posts regarding Richard Ford, I guess someone at the Gateway News didn't like them, or does someone else have access to this blog with the ability to remove posts???

Anonymous said...

Is ok for the president of the BOE to threaten staff people's jobs (friends or relatives of board members) if the board members don't vote her way.
We all know that she is a very vindictive person, that is real "fear of retaliation".
Since you are friends of the 3 stooges is that okay?
Great example for our kids.

Anonymous said...

There taking out more than two blogs at one point there were 64 and know there are only 59. It's kind of a shame that the good old Gateway doesn't like hearing the truth. I for one am just glad the truth is finally coming out and we see they fools for what they really are.

Anonymous said...

What a joke this blog is, it's ok to write whatever you want as long as it's not about one of the Gateways so called "writers"

Anonymous said...

I would like to know what happened to the blog on Angela - the one about her being a registered voter in Jefferson County. Shame on you and shame on her for being on the Board and flat out lying about where she lives - It's pretty pathic that she has gotten away with it this long. WAKE UP BOE it's time for little miss Angela to go.

Anonymous said...

My guess if blogs were removed it was due to outrageous remarks.
Not even just personal attacks but filthy and slanderous statements.
No I didn't take anything out, but can certainly understand it after reading some of the leaps of thought.
You need to use a dictionary and look up some of the words you throw around. Do you know how to use one?

Anonymous said...

If it's the truth it's not slander
and it was all the truth.

Anonymous said...

WOW Gateway News is not allowing people to talk people's kids!

WOW looks like they have some heart!

Vashaw, you leave your phone number but you won't answer the gateway questions a long time ago about Dr. Lange! What gives?

Or have you been planning this for awhile?

Anonymous said...

That's funny I had dinner with Angela at your new place right here in Commerce City.

Anonymous said...

I think Council meeting should be held only at the city hall. I dont think it is necassay to have council meetings all over the city. It is not that hard to get to city hall.

Anonymous said...

New place?, Does that mean she just moved back to Commerce City?

Anonymous said...

I am going to reply to 3 of the former messages:

First, the one about Ford kickin’ peoples asses. There is no doubt that he is a bully. He probably could not stand up to someone his size. He can bully old women and probably kids and that’s it. He is nothing but a wanna be. I think he needs to take care of his own family before he worries about any of the kids in District 14. This is a man who “forgot” he had 4 children. How easily he can forget your child. He claims to have the best interest of ALL the kids in this district but what about his own FORGOTTON son?? I personally don’t want this man having any influence on my children. Look what he has done to his own kids. Do you really trust him with yours?

Second, about the qualification of this board now. WOW I think we have heard many times about the felony conviction…Did he serve his time???? AND the biggest part of that is HE WAS STILL ELECTED by the people!!! I do believe this man has the districts best interests at heart. About the bus driver, what’s wrong with that???? Would you rather a janitor preying on your kids? Wasn’t Fords wife pregnant prior to them getting married? With todays laws this man would be in jail. As for the third board member having a wife working in district, Can you please clarify because two of the board members have wives that work in district. The last board member is the “stripper” Now that’s someone I want to influence my daughter. Wow maybe she can teach her how to break up a marriage and then make money by stripping.
The last one is CLA. I personally am not a big charter fan but do we really have room to talk? I do believe we have had embezzlement in District 14 as well, a high principle and teacher turn over, and the CSAP scores are not really nothing to brag about.
I feel the firing of Lange means new beginnings for this district. And I just hope that this board doesn’t stop there. They need to completely clean house at the Ad building. GO BOE!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Just got a text that the gateway news blog was hoppin!

You say that it is the truth, well lets hear your prove.

Otherwise, focus on something that is constructve for our city.

Gateway News: you should split this up into School Board section and a city section

Last questio: Heard that Recall is not over? Why are people saying this?

I thought they did not have enough signatures?

Anonymous said...

CSAP have been up for the last 7 years, this year they dip and you don't even give him a chance to correct it? Also, district has been in trouble with money for awhile. Did they introduction of the charter school have anything to do with this. I have nothing against charter schools, but putting one in the d-14 scenerio was a very bad idea. It took out a huge chunk of money and made it so we had to build another building. It really does not make sense, does it?

Gateway get vashaw on one of your videos and start asking him the difficult questions that you always come up with!

Anonymous said...

I heard the video of Dr. Lange,

Does this mean D-14 will be in court with Dr. Lange?

Why would they do this? Why not give him the chance to resign or handle this in exec session?

Anonymous said...

The recall will never be over as long as racetrack rene is around. He will probably continue going after the mayor till Rene leaves the city.
Obsession is his middle name and Crazy could be his first, but I like Racetrack better.

Anonymous said...

I see the Gateway put one post back in, now how about allowing free speech and putting the rest of the deleted posts back??

Anonymous said...

Kids are off limits. To the individual that is all upset because you can't bash kids. Email the gateway news and try to explain why you get off bashing kids.

Anonymous said...

All my "proof" is public record, look up Rebecca Ford's, Richard's wife, birthday than look up the date their daughter was born, if you do the math you'll find she was 17 when she got pregnant by a 27 year old man working at her high school.

I really am glad he isn't making decisions for our kids anymore.

And it's not slander, it's the truth.

Anonymous said...

I didn't see any post bashing kids.
Maybe they were deleted like the ones regarding Richard Ford and Angela Kreutzer.

Anonymous said...

As a veteran educator, I feel I have to respond to some statements that have been made regarding the firing of Dr. Lange.
First, CSAP scores have risen in ACSD #14, however, never have they met the requirements of CDE. In addition, CSAP scores in ACSD #14 do not meet or exceed the state average at any secondary school.
Next, as for the issue of high principal/teacher turnover. That is true. There are, and have been individuals in ACSD #14 that are qualified to be administrators but were denied the opportunity because Lange knew that these folks would not kiss his backside and be like puppets on his string. These people also lived in the district and payed taxes!
Finally, this is apparent for those of you that live or have lived in ACSD #14. The "old board" (i.e. Phillips, Ford, Kreutzer, Lewis and McIntosh) worked for Lange. The vote was always 3-2 in favor of whatever Lange wanted. The three that were in favor were, you guessed it (Phillips, Ford and Kreutzer.)Now, the tide has turned. The with the "new board" the vote is 3-2 the other way. In other words, Lewis, Vashaw and Quintana are the 3, and Kreutzer and Klocker are the 2.. SORRY Dr. Lange, YOU lose 3-2 this time!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

This morning there was a blog stating that Angela was a registered voter of Jefferson County - This is a public record so quess what its a fact. As of February 28, 2008, Miss Angela did not live in this district or she would not have been able to vote in Jefferson County. I don't care if she has moved back in the district or not. The fact remains she did not live in this district. Should no longer be on the BOE as of March 1st. It is not ok to adapt and re-adapt the rules to fit you or your's. If it had been anyone else heads would have been spinning they would have been off the Board so fast. In fact once again my point proven true. Katie Squires was a board member and moved to Thornton and was asked to resign immediately. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Pedophile: a person sexually attracted to and sexually abuses someone prepubescent (generally 13 or younger), that is the definition you are using incorrectly.
If the ages you claim are true, it wasn't smart, but not the action of a pedophile.
The fact that they are still married shows he has no attraction to prepubescent children.
He apparently fell in love with a young women and she with him.
When you get your degree in sexual psychology you can critize with more factual knowledge.
No doubt you are pure of thought, action and deed.

Anonymous said...

I may be missing it but I don't see any posts accusing anyone of being a pedophile. I'm sure they weren't deleted.

And yes maybe Richard did fall in love with a 17 year old "woman" who was still in high school, but maybe he should have gotten divorced from his first wife before he started a family with this "woman"

Anonymous said...

This is to the sexual psychologist. Who no doubt is a friend or relative of the Fords, who once again is trying to put a spin on something. It is what it is no excuses. Why is it ok for this man to fall in love with a student and not any other educator. Have you watched the news and seen all the educators that have been on for having relations with students? Why is he any differnt?

In law enforcement, the term "pedophile" is generally used to describe those accused or convicted of the sexual abuse of a minor (including both prepubescent children and adolescent minors younger than the local age of consent).

Anonymous said...

No you are wrong again.
A teacher is a direct person of trust.
A janitor is an employee in the district.

Anonymous said...

Everyone is getting reallllllly far off the subject of Dr. Lange.
All of these people are elected by the citizens.
All are flawed, as are all of us.
Dr. Lange no doubt also.
Did he bring the district to the best place it's been in a long time? I believe so.
Was it a lynching that was planned for a long time? I believe so.
Was it deserved? I believe no.

Anonymous said...

There was a blog by the hateful person that mentioned pedophile.
It is no longer there.

Anonymous said...

What happened to all the other blogs that didn't mention anything about a pedophile?

Seems all the blogs that put Richard in a bad light have been deleted, kinda like censorship.

Anonymous said...

So if CSAP are such a big deal now, why was Vashaw down playing them when he was at CLA as a board member?

Flip Flop Flip Flop

Anonymous said...

Go ahead Vashaw jump in with answers at any time!

Anonymous said...

When will you people who are supporting the Mayor, wake up!! He was caught last night breaking the law. There is no where in the state where a public official can use an employee for his own personal benefit. The Mayor states he e-mailed Tim Carroll and told him not to come over to his house to prompt him for the press conference concerning the recall (a private matter). These are the laws he broke.
1. The State of Colorado Amendment 41, Section, Number 2.
2. The Commerce City Charter section 7, number 6.
3. Commerce City, City Council Policies Section 1 A and B, and Section 7.
4. The new City COuncil Norms. He has already broke this rule before it has been approved.
This is an ex Lakewood City Police Officer and a retired State Employee, who knows the rules of the state of Colorado and The City of Commerce City. If you still want to condone him, evidently you have your head in the sand. Remember a house built with no foundation will not stand.

since you know so much better of how to run things, why don't you run for school board or so other elected seat?

Anonymous said...

Or are you just an attention seeker, which by reading your comments I think you are.

Too bad, and oh so sad.

Anonymous said...

I have been reading the blogs on ACSD #14 and your all a bunch of idiots. Especially any of you defending Richard or Angela. Wrong is wrong I don't care if your a teacher, a custodian, a water boy what. Wrong is wrong, and at the time in today's standards little Mr. Richard Ford would be serving time in jail. And as for Angela lying is lying. Plain and simple she got caught in bed with her boyfriend moved out of the district. I don't care if she moved back in. Wrong is wrong and she should be off the school board. Justify anyway you want if it makes you feel better but once again Wrong is Wrong.

To sexual psychologist, I'm not going to have a war of words with you!!! All I have to say is wrong is wrong. I don't make the rules, I just follow them, unlike some. I would not in any situation be it a janitor, department store worker, or trash truck driver, date a much younger teenage child. Not to mention while I was already married with a child to another women. Sorry to say that is called morals. Some have them some don't.

Anonymous said...

you have gotten off onto a richard and angela rant, the original subject was Dr. Lange, since you know so much. I would love to hear what you actually have to say about the ORGINAL subject.

Go ahead lets hear it.

Anonymous said...

If you look at the original post, it says to share your thoughts and concerns, Not what do you think about Dr. Lange being dismissed.

Anonymous said...

In a nutshell, I think Dr. Lange is a joke!!! It was amazing that he lasted this long in this district. I guess Commerce City is a little slower at the firing process then Eagle County.

Anonymous said...

okay I hear you but tell me why. Let me start you out, 7 years of positive csap growth.

Anonymous said...

Just a Question?

was Dr Lange the best?

did the Board brake any rules firing him?

do our kids deserve better?

Anonymous said...

I think they did, but I guess from hearing from the video we will soon hear a legal opinion.

Kids deserve better? Have you seen the high school! AMAZING! and Alsup, once again AMAZING! I think we have great teachers and great kids in our district 14!

Anonymous said...

Kids do deserve better, and hopefully that is the direction of BOE is going to take us. You haven't worked under Dr. Lange - if you were one of his puppets, you were safe. If not you were fired. The same holds true for the Principals if your a kiss ass and do everything they say they keep you and it doesn't matter if your a good teacher or not. It's usually the good teachers that buck the system because they have opinions. So it's the good teachers that are left go. And we keep the crap teachers because they are the better ass kissers. So I for one am glad we are in the process of rebuilding this district it has been needed for a few years now.

Anonymous said...

I think kids deserve better!!! That is why the firing of Dr. Lange is a positive change not only for the kids but for this community and most of the workers in this district.

You bring up the 7 years of gain with CSAP however, never have they met the requirements of CDE. CSAP scores in ACSD #14 do not meet or exceed the state average at any secondary school and this is Ok with some? It is not ok with me.
You also bring up Alsup being an AMAZING school. My only question about Alsup is how can all them kids pass a CSAP test then when they go to ACMS they fail? If nothing else just answer that one question?

Anonymous said...

Just a Question? Here are my answers to that.

was Dr Lange the best? Compared to what or who? How about DPS's, No he wasn't the best. What about to Brighton's Super. Again I would have to say NO. So no Dr. Lange was NOT the best.

did the Board brake any rules firing him? I don't feel they broke any rules by firing him. Just his contract.

do our kids deserve better? Yes they deserve so much better and I think they will get it now.

Anonymous said...

well maybe you got a point there. Just hard to get both sides of the story.

So where do we go from here?

What the hell is going to happen to that new high school?

Anonymous said...

The New Adams City High School is on time and i think on budget. and our staff, teachers and students will love it. and they should invite Dr Lange to the grand opening.

Anonymous said...

Does that Leffel guy stalk the mayor? Does he have a medical condition we should be concerned with, seems weird.

Anonymous said...

Recall not over?

What the hell?

Or is this just a last stand type of a deal?

Anonymous said...

Now its John Zilers turn. LOL

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

does recall still have a chance?

can they re turn in their petition after they fix it?

I think they think it is still not over yet.

Anyone? Anyone?

I didn't sign anything, I am just really curious.

Anonymous said...

I heard that District 14 might be leasing the old high school building, any truth to this?

Also, Gateway News, you really do ned to split up the school stuff from the city stuff on this blog, I live in Commerce City but have nothing to do with District 14, it is the same stupid stiff the city and D-14 do to all of us in the North with channel 8 and numerous of hours of D-14 coverage when we all live in 27J. I would much rather hear about the bond and mills in my area then watch the train wreck of D-14.

Anonymous said...

I can be corrected but I think Colorado is a state where you can fire anyone at anytime for almost any reason, or I think you don't even have to give a reason. I think it is called an at will state. Am I correct on this?

Anonymous said...

Yes you are correct that Colorado is an employment at will state and all D-14 has to do is pay Lange's contract out, which I believe they are doing

Anonymous said...

Would they stoop low enough to get list of registered voters and forge the signatures. paper reported there were a lot of signatures with the same handwriting and a lot of duplicates.

Anonymous said...

Yes Colorado is a at will state, but vashaw gave reasons for his decision. If he was smart he would have just fired him and kept his mouth shut and give no reasons.

But the reasons he gave really dont make sense.

Just a couple of weeks ago the board was still trying to figure out their over all goals!

And CSAP, my god, he had 7 years of growth, I know they didn't meet CDE, the fact is at least we were going up and up and up. They dipped this last time, but they didnt even give him the chance to take corrective action.

Lewis makes a statement in a meeting that lange has done many good things for the district, and they would "review" in 6 months, then fires him, I wish she would have just been honest in the first place.

Boy, I feel sorry for the next poor super coming here.

Lange even took a pay decrease at one point. I don't get it.

Anonymous said...

Denver is having this event called "fans of the field" and it includes all the major league stadiums, except for Dicks Sporting Goods Park, the Major League Soccer Complex here in Commerce City.

Why are we not included?

Anonymous said...

some of the reasons Robert V. (school board member of D-14) gave for firing Dr. Lange (D-14 super, not currently, fired, you get the point).

Gateway News has video but I like to see things in writing.

400K embezzlement over 6 years

Audit of students 1.2 million refund back to state

Budget over by 2 million

Transportation Department over 400K for salaries and benefits accounts

Numerous staff and program cuts needed for a balance budget

Internal problems for recording of outside field trips

1.5 million paid to Commerce City for use tax

60 to 80 ERUs needed for new high school

CSAP down in all grade levels

Weak Leadership

Can take classes during day and evening for adult classes concept has changed

Anonymous said...

Dr Lange states you will be hearing from my lawyer BEFORE he was fired. i might of changed my mind too? maybe he fired himself? Gateway watch the video and get your facts straight. i hope you don't try and lie about what really happened. oh you already did.

Anonymous said...

Dr. Lange states “You will be hearing from my lawyer” after being fired. Gateway Head line.
It was befof he was fired!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

No doubt Dr Lange could see the great big print on the wall when Vashaw started with his list.
When the chance for comments came, he let them know what they had planned was low down dirty and they would be talking to his lawyer.
Can't say I blame the guy. This was obviously in the works for quite some time while they tried to write up a list to justify what they were doing.
Yes it was before the "offical" vote, but anyone watching can see it coming.

Anonymous said...

Gateway lied already. I thought a news reporter checked the facts? You can tell me why you lied but you still lied. whats that teach the kids?

Anonymous said...

Seriously! You are nit picking.
Should the headline have read
"Just before a vote to be fired, which was evident to happen, Dr Lange District 14 Administrator, denounced Mr Vashaw's statement and told the board they would be hearing from his lawyer"
Give me a break!!
Before or after....he was fired and the intent was there from the start of the statement, OBVIOUSLY!!

(no I don't work for the gateway)

maybe there is more to the story, maybe the gateway news has some information that it was a plan inthe works for a while.

Time Capsule at old City Hall?

Okay, here is what I know, there is more then likely a time capsule at the old city hall on the south side, possible under the cracked sidewalk. It might only be about 12 to 14 inches deep and it would be cool as hell to open it up, document it and add to it then re-bury it at the new city hall.

This will take action by current city council and the d-14 school district to make this happen.

The old city hall was purchased by the adams county school distrcit just recently.

Anonymous said...

Did you know that there was a little air strip in Commerce City and also a race track and pig farms?

Anonymous said...

Videos of URCC are good so far, anyone know if they talked about recall during picnic?

And isn't true that recall is not over yet?

Anonymous said...

I just watched the video of bullock during a council meeting. That guy is so, so, so jealous of Paul's success. Between him and that guy they call town clown, how much gas do they waste following the mayor and staking out his home? If I was employed by the city I think I would just show up at Paul Natale's home and just start working in view of the not so bright.
Really, who cares who the mayor invites into his home? If he has friend that works for the city hanging pictures and notices one not quite level on Paul's wall and nudges it level; who cares? What we do care about is how much the cities image is being degraded by the covetous anarchy of someone that LOST an election.
Thanks to this site posting his videos we the citizens can see and hear that bullock and the recall attempt was a rage of jealousy.

Anonymous said...

I hear what Mr. Bullock is saying , but hear is where I have a problem.

I think it would be irresponsible if the Mayor (Paul Natale) would not have some kind of a representative from the city. Mayor Natale was making comments about other city council meetings and the city manager. I think it is better, legally for the city to actually have a Public Relations Specialist there to just make sure that the Mayor would not say anything that could get him or more importantly the whole city into trouble.

By the language that Mr. Bullock is using, either he really has a lot of time on his hands or he has some kind of a lawyer or someone giving him legal advice.

Anonymous said...

Here we go, Gateway news continues to cover Rene and his quest to get rid of Paul. I dont see how a newspaper can give so much coverage to a individual who clearly only has a personal grudge against the mayor!

Whats wrong gateway! no other stories out there! Maybe you should also take Jim Benson advice and try focusing on the positive.

Anonymous said...

I have a question it is way off from anything that has been talked about so far.

How do people feel about the $400,000 that Adams 14 transportation department was over on there budget?

I think maybe they need to fire some people there too!!!

Anonymous said...

Hate to say this but I would have to agree. Almost a half a million dollars off budget is just too big of a miscalculation to over look. I want to know how the hell that could even happen?

And it is not just employee that need to be looked at here, but also the current board. Aren't they give updates on the district financials? Where the hell were they during this?

Same thing with the embezzlement, I heard that staff actually wanted to upgrade the software but ran into budget issues back when this all happened. Anyone want to elaborate on this one?

Gateway News PLEEEEEASE split the school district stuff into a different area! Please~

Anonymous said...

I agree SD 14 should have its own blog. A lot of people on the site are invested in 27J and don't follow the successes, failures or leadership of district 14 and it sounds like people are wanting to talk about it and their blogs are being split up by recall posts.

Anonymous said...

My question is, if transportation dept in district 14,overspent $400,000 in the last fiscal year, what was the BOE doing during this time? Where was their oversite. Everyone knows they micro manage. Most budgets are carefully checked monthly.
Did they not see the monies going over budget? Do they wait for the entire year to check expenditures?
What was the reason for over budget expenses?
Fuels have gone up tremdously. Were extra trips ordered, that cost the transportation section extra salaries and fuel, not budgeted for?
I highly doubt the BOE was unaware of extra expenses,in regards to the transportation. Did they just allow it to happen, so it would help put a noose around Dr. Lange and other employees necks?
Gotta wonder!

Mayor reaching out to wider audiences

COMMERCE CITY – In an ongoing effort to learn more about the concerns and expectations of residents and businesses, Mayor Paul Natale will be changing his monthly “Coffee with the Mayor” talks. The change in the format is to meet with more diverse civic groups, businesses and other community organizations.

The objective of “Coffee with the Mayor” was to share information about the city to residents and obtain feedback.

“I want to be able to reach out to more people in our community,” Natale said. “As before, my goal is to share information about the city to both residents and businesses.”

Since June, Natale has been meeting with residents during his “Coffee with the Mayor” talks. Natale said he believes he will get a wider range of feedback by reaching out to additional organized groups. The format of these meetings has not been determined, but Natale said he will make himself available to address a specific topic, or for a less formal question-and-answer format.

“The residents I’ve met and talked to during the ‘Coffee with the Mayor’ meetings have help me better understand a variety of perspectives on issues important to our community,” Natale said. “And if individuals want to talk to me personally, I’m still available. By going out to the public and business sectors, however, I’m hoping to get more input that will help make Commerce City an even better community.”

The coffee events previously scheduled from Oct. 10 and Nov. 19 are now canceled and will be replaced with organization meetings. Organizations or individuals that are interested in meetings with the mayor can be arranged by contacting Leigh Ann Noel at (303) 289-3767.

Council, staff continue work on 2009 budget

COMMERCE CITY – City Council received its third budget presentation during its Sept. 22 council study session. City staff outlined new details regarding service demands and financial needs for the city.

The goal for the series of budget discussions is to keep City Council informed so it can respond to a projected shortfall in the 2009 budget. The downturn in the economy, as well as lower-than expected, first-year revenues from the recently annexed northern enclave, have all played a role in the shortfall.

“The city isn’t facing anything different than other cities in the Denver area, the state and the nation,” City Manager Jerry Flannery said. “The economy nationwide is one of the most difficult this country has seen in many years. To think that Commerce City’s economy would be immune from this would be irresponsible.”

This year the city has an approximate $3 million shortfall, which is being covered by savings accounts and approximately $2.3 million from the operating reserve funds. The city’s ability to replenish cash reserves has been reduced with the decrease in one-time revenue generated by new housing starts.

“From our updated forecast, it will take several years for the housing market to be restored to levels experienced in 2005-2006,” Finance Director Roger Tinklenberg said. “Staff has been working to find ways help balance the budget, but we can’t continue to tap reserves for the long-term to fill the gap.”

Staff has presented council with three options to balance the budget. Proposals include cuts or suspensions to existing programs, tapping into operating reserve funds and new revenue enhancement programs. Council will review the proposed 2009 budget at its annual retreat Sept 29.

According to Flannery, the solution to the 2009 budget most likely will be a combination of options.

“Council and staff are working on a solution that will put the city in a more stable financial position next year, and in years to come,” Flannery said. He said the city expects revenue from the northern enclave to increase in 2009.

“Staff has become increasingly efficient during the last year in identifying improvements in service delivery to Commerce City residents,” Flannery added, “and the city will continue to improve on that service regardless of revenue streams.”

If you are refering to Bullock's harrasment of the mayor at council....I saw it in person. I don't believe jumpy is the right word.
I would say sick and tired, possibly annoyed at him, being pestered constantly by this person, especially someone like slick Rene would get old.
Imagine if you had a police person after you, following your every move to catch you doing something, anything they can get you on. No signal lane change, two miles an hour over the limit etc., you get my drift. Worse yet this cop following you, nevered followed the rules himself and didn't like you catching him on the take.
Rene and his wife are obsessed with the mayor and Rene loosing the election, it is so obvious.

CORRECTION FROM COMMERCE CITY PRESS RELEASE

Council, staff continue work on 2009 budget

COMMERCE CITY – City Council received its third budget presentation during its Sept. 22 study session.

At the city council meeting on Sept. 8, the city staff projected a potential shortfall of $2 million. During the past few weeks staff has been working aggressively to identify cost savings opportunities. At the Sept. 22 study session, staff made recommendations that could potentially lower the shortfall total to approximately $500,000. After reviewing the most recent budget proposals, the mayor and council commended staff for their work to find ways to narrow the funding gap.

“Staff has become increasingly efficient during the last year in identifying improvements in service delivery to Commerce City residents,” Flannery added, “and the city will continue to improve on that service regardless of revenue streams.”

Anonymous said...

Why would the city change it from 3 million to 2 million? Which is it and why such as a difference?

Anonymous said...

Because staff has been fine tuning their needs to be more realistic to the monies coming in.
That is what planning a budget is about!!
This city council that is seated is being fiscally responsible, along with the city manager and staff.

Anonymous said...

City is really missing out on new economic development, a lot of people are calling this ED for short.

I dont want to hear about roof tops. This concept doesn't seem to apply for other cities such as brighton, so why is it that we are always missing the boat when it comes to ED?

Anonymous said...

Try researching your information.
Kronke's company started the area approximately 8 yrs ago in Brighton, known as Prarie Center.
Since you have so much economic developement experience knowledg one would think you would have known this.
The facts are no one, I repeat no one wants to build unless they are sure of the financial sales support. If you live in the north you probably shop at a King Soopers or Safeway now. They get your dollars and don't care if YOU have to be inconvienced or drive a long way. They won't risk their money unless they have definate sales support or competetion.
Companies have been fully aware of the economic situation for quite a while. The one we are now seeing for our own eyes. They don't take chances no matter how much you want businesses here.
Oh yes, by the way the developers also want top dollar for there commercial space, making it tough for the little guy.
If sales staff lied to you, that's a shame, but if you didn't open your eyes to see there were no stores shame on you.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure the blog about missing out on ED was written by one of those pushing the recall. It's all propaganda. They think the registered voters are idiots in this city. Gone are the days where control of the city was passed down through the good ole boy network.
Is Paul Natale being blamed for the failed bail out package approval also.

When the overall economy improves we will see lots of ED in the north and our investments will yield huge dividends. The new high school in Reunion hopefully will attract some of the states best educators to district 27J. With better schools bringing in more families generating more building permits equals more income for the city. I'm sure most are confident this will happen in next couple of years so during Paul Natales next term the skys the limit.

Anonymous said...

I read the same thing too and got a different impression.

I highly doubt anyone really thinks Mr Mayor Natale is actually responsible for the ED downfall in Commerce City.

I think the issue was a bad ED concept in the beginning. Maybe even bad marketing.

We heard about all these things that were going to happen from Las Vegas and it seems like nothing ever came to reality.

The Mayors fault? I dont think so.

Anonymous said...

What the hell are you talking about, PAUL'S NEXT TERM? are you kidding?

He can't even run again! Thank God!

Anonymous said...

Why would any sane person run to represent this city. The people on council back stab each other. A small group of citizens are always causing upheavel and are never satisfied.
Where are the good things the atta boys?
Why do some people in this city do nothing but complain and whine?
I personally know why some do, they can't ever focus on good, unless it benefits themselves.
Thank GOD we do have Mayor Natale, I realize he can't run again, I doubt he would (if he could) after the crap he has put up with.

Anonymous said...

I had some high hopes for this website having some dialogue and discussion about the issues. Sadly it has gone the way of the other attempts. Please let's get back to issues and discussion.

Here is some good news. I heard that the budget meeting with council went well.
Among many other budget issues,if everything goes as discussed, we will have trash removal and recycling both! Also included is connected units (not apartments).
Looks like our city manager and staff did an excellant job of managing the monies.
Yea team!!

Is this really true? If so, I really have to say that is really big news!

I would have to say that is an excellent job, and believe me I am not a big Commerce City Government Fan nor City Staff currently.

But if this is true, I would have to step back and say Good Job, No better yet, GREAT JOB.

Now only if we can get verification that this is really True.

I wonder ? If I get 2000 signatures in favor of those on the recall committee to go to hell! would they at least move from our city? I can at least be happy they are statistically within a few years of dotage. That's right, you cranky old people who can't stand to have been declared insignificant. Three hundred votes won’t win an election anymore and the majority think you're just a bunch of jealous uneducated idiots. The city is at the best representation in history and the person who lost the election is trashing its accomplishments. What was this? The fourth failed attempt by him? If any are in agreement send an e-mail with subject of YES to: c_city80022@yahoo.com. I would like to see If we can get 2000 responses.
