dusty,
why no pictures of B Morris or J Flannery at the rapids party?

Dustin, Gateway News said...

They were not on the stage. It was pretty crowded rally.

BS that anyone could have been on the transition team. Yes one had to go on line to apply, but it was a very limited group asked to actually be on the teams!!
Some people ALWAYS want to try and put down something good our city achieves.

over 1700 people applied for the positions in 7 days. A good job for Commerce City to get two on.

Congratulations to both Mayor Natale and B. Morris.

Concerns in Commerce City said...

Why no word on city website about Rapids? IS it really a Denver thing? And is there a chinese delegation in the city now?

Alos, I live in north and I went over to the Police Sub Station in the Reunion Village at 2 pm and it was all locked up. What gives?

Why are they helping out HickenRitter, why not put all of their efforts into our hometown, Commerce City.

The mayor and ED director being on the transition committees will help Commerce City, What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Proud Republican,
Any time there is bi-partism involvement it helps a larger group of people.
Apparently that is what Hick is trying to do.
Experience brought to the table is always a good thing, rather than just playing party lines.

nothin about rapids in city news. too sad. Also where is the water district news and the 27J news and the fire district news we were promised?

Also, why does it say Adams 14 news on page 9 to 12 and then PDF has no page 9 to 12?

Great Job CC STAFF!

Please re-post in December.

9,000 copies of city news to Northern Resident that makes no sense.

why would commerce city spend a lot of money on printing 9,000 copies of city news containing news from Adams county school district #14 to the northern residents who are in school district 27J?

Hey Gateway,
You guys know what the exec session for ED is all about?

Is it China? Is it WalMart? or Made something with Prairie Gateway area?

you know anything? ;)

Dustin, Gateway News said...

No, sorry I have no idea what it is about. I am sure if there are any developments that the public can know about it will come out ASAP.

wink wink

I agree, sending 9000 pieces of unreadable crap to the northern range is a waste of our money. Goes right into the recycle bin.

LAME DUCK city council won't do anything about it though.

Anonymous said...

Gee maybe that's why its in exec session. Because they are trying to get a deal done without it being ruined by someone. Sometimes deals have to be done so that people don't up the price of their land, or try and do something else to ruin a business opportunity for a competitor. Of course the public wants to know, but is it "good" for the info to be out there??

Archer,
I bet that the school districts and water dist help pay the cost for the publication. Therefore utilizing one publication and lower costs for all, while getting info to the public.
Man....if you don't get info you complain, when you do you complain.

Gateway,

Today was the last day that people could write in to the city of Commerce City and tell them why they need to bring them a store in the north that the city already told us was coming.

Did the city get any responses?

Archer said...

If the Water District helped pay for a city publication and mailed it to all of us when they already mail us our water bills and could easily put in a flyer I will be very upset!

This town is FULL OF GOV WASTE!

As far as the other school district. It makes NO SENSE to mail 9,000 copies to everyone in the north who do not care!

I have lived in 4 other cities in my life and I have to say this city takes the cake for gov. WASTE!

archer,
if you have all the answers to all the problems, maybe you should run for a elected city position.

Don, Comm. City said...

I am wondering why the Comm. City News is in Spanish! Talk about a waste of tax dollars!

Dustin, Gateway News said...

I am actually going to jump in on this one. Commerce City has large numbers of its residents that do speak Spanish. In order to get the information out to all of its residents, it makes sense to print in both English and Spanish.

Anonymous said...

dusty, dont they have to at least speak english to vote?

Dustin, Gateway News said...

Actually, at least in Denver, where I live, the ballot was in English and Spanish. I am not 100% sure about Adams County but would assume it would have the same options.

Core Comments said...

dusty,
just because we have a Hispanic population, why do you assume they do not speak English?

Anonymous said...

Looking at the voter rolls, there are NOT that many people that speak spanish. What we have is a lagre number of illegals that we're catering to and most of them can't read. It's a waste of US citizens and legal resident tax dollars

Brent, Reunion said...

You make it sound like commerce city is a safe haven for illegal aliens!

Curious in Reunion said...

Excellent point about water district. If they already send us water bill in the mail, why can't the city team up with them and just mail us the info we need.

Gina, cc said...

It was a long time ago, but when I was in public school. We had a newsletter that was sent home with us to give to our parents. It was explained that it was very important to get this home safely. It taught us responsibility and I am sure it saved the school district money by saving postage.
