I guess the fracking equipment will be up in Reunion until Feb. or March of next year.
Dominick
I know, I'll hear back on this comment. Today, CC has serious problems in these next few years with Fracking and the enormous amounts of water needed to drill each well. The South Adams County Water and Sanitation lists unlimited amounts of water it will supply to this process. (Big money!) Our water is so precious to our survival in this area that someone has to take control of the people's cause. Dominick can better serve us in the House than sitting on council. Where the Mayor has veto power. Because this is a State issue and this will touch reservation lands in Colorado as well. Native Americans own the mineral rights to their lands, we do not. There are other qualified council members to serve as Pro-Tem but we need a strong personality in Colorado Congress. To my mind, just me, I think that Tracy Snyder is a people pleaser who cares deeply about her people which many times compromises her judgment in areas of spending. Given the fact, that she has voted for 81 million in five years for Core City projects and pushed though the Boys and Girls Club which we can not afford to support and which will benefit only one area of the city.

Estelle, Did you somehow forget, or never knew that Dominick was part of the council that pushed through the Boys and Girls Club? He was highlighted for happily doing that in his Ward, as he should have because many of the children who will benefit from it are his constituants. And did you also forget, or never knew, that Tracey Snyder was the councilwoman for Ward 4, in the very heart of the core part of Commerce City? It was her JOB to take care of her constituants, which, as you point out, she did very, very well. It is your right to support whomever you please, but your constant bashing of Ms. Snyder is strange and puzzeling.
No reason why robert should be the president
I think you're being a little harsh on tracy. X There is no difference between her and dominic. Besides you have to vote party lines in the state capital any how.
Still you make no sense. If tracy care so much about the people. What makes you think she won't stand up for them?
Commerce City,
Do the right thing. Put a moratorium on any drilling. Show that you are serious about this issue.
Wes,
That is exactly what they did in CO. Springs.
http://www.gazette.com/articles/city-129455-drilling-month.html#ixzz1fInfxWQ
Dont forget,
The drilling was not done in the city, but rather Adams County.
But I do see the point on the moratorium. It would show that CC is serious.
HELLO! City cannot put moratorium on drilling - do you people not understand that you are dealing with the State Oil and Gas Commission - that is comprised of individuals who work in the Oil and Gas Industry and are well tied to the State Legislature. Sounds like you all still believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy as well. Estelle - I do not think the Mayor has veto power - again, again and again - the Mayor is like all other Council members - they just get to hold the gavel at meetings. The Mayor is the titular figure head of the City (that means in name only)- they do not run the City no matter how much the previous and current mayors would like us all to think so. Do you all really think Hancock or previous mayors in Denver "runs" everything - he has an enormous well educated, experienced and professional staff to guide ALL of his decisions, directives etc. - please - all of you grow up and start thinking like adults who have a clue about how the world actually works.
Everyone has made mistakes in life, it is what you do with them that defines your character. On that note, Mr Vashaw is a positive role model who has done well to improve the lives around him and openly shares this life lesson so that others may learn without making the same mistake personally. Further, he defines service to his fellow human. All of his service to this community has been done on the voluntary level for the sum of zero dollars. His predecessor is celebrated for her 40 plus years of service. Lest we forget that all but 8 years of that were as a paid employee of the school. Those last 8 years were all about her legacy but look close at what really happened in her tenure, numerous bad investments in property, bad lawsuits, what can be described as the bungled firing of a superintendent, another almost getting fired, forgetting to buy water for the new high school, bad relations between the board itself and other leaders of the community, and the first ever sensure.
On that note the school public realtions group can only be described as either in conflict with their new leadership or too ignorant to lead this school district. So the CommerceCity news comes out and the city celebrates it's new council with a story. District 27J does the same, even daing to picture the ceremony. Adams 14, nothing. Then again, they chose to spend money and staff time to give a party to the exiting Mrs. Lewis and Mr. Klocker along with gifts. Great investment in the children there. Maybe the new board was more inclined to spend the money on kids then a big party for the new people but based on the sign outside their building and the lack of communication given to the schools and public I think they are still in denial of the results.
Sorry Estelle, but you are wrong about Dominick. He needs to stay right where he is and let Tracey Snyder go to the House where she belongs. I notice she is at the Fracking meetings, and is standing by the citizens in the Northern Range on this issue! Did you not see her at Citizen Communication addressing the Council last week? So much for your opinion that she supports only the South! She is the best choice. End of story. and it should be the end of Tracey bashing, it gets very old.Yes, she stood by her promises to the South and looked out for the children of our district. And that is wrong how exactly?
I agree with the person who wrote that it is puzzling that Estelle is always against Tracey Snyder. This is a woman who even with a disability proved a strong and excellent leader throughout her term. And she handled the Mayorial job on many occassions and did it very well! To me her track record of experience and dedication, along with her "never say die" attitude already makes her a winner!
Suncor leaking cancer causing material into sand creek, the medical waste facility planned by the flea market and the fracking in south lawn (Reunion).
I am glad that Jim Benson's name change failed back a few years ago.
We are COMMERCE CITY. Let's just face the facts.
Hey, has anyone noticed that Flannery is not around anymore.
Did the city survive?
Yep. Looks like all that happened is some dead weight was trimmed.
party for lewis?
did it have a census cake?
If Vashaw is SO transparent, why did some of the candidates who ran for Adams 14 Directors NOT know about his "past"?
RESPONSE TO: This is a woman who even with a disability proved a strong and excellent leader throughout her term?
What is her disability?
Tracey (correct spelling) is the right person for the HD position.
I think Estelle has some kind of a grudge. I don't understand the idea that jumping ship in mid term is "good" for Commerce City?
Especially when we have very capable people like Tracey run to step up to the plate.
Dominick is part if that younger generation. No attention span! Can't even sit still as the mayor pro tem. This generation, ruled by twitter and facebook are always needing to move on to what they think is the next bigger/better thing.
That's the way I see it.
AT LEAST MR. MORENO HAS BEEN A DONKEY HIS ENTIRE LIFE!
Dominick the Donkey!!!!!!!!

this place is so entertaining!
Thanks for making me laugh!
I saw the coverage on how a PRIVATE developer took over the struggling Brighton Pavilions.
Commerce City should take a long look at this.
The PRIVATE sector will work it self out.
No need to spend $4,000,000.00 of tax payers money to buy the Dog Track!
Eventually the PRIVATE sector would have taken care of this.
All this was is a BAIL OUT for the previous dog track owners. Side note: heard they owed taxes on it.
Another side note: two of the city staff proponents of the buying of the dog track for $4,000,000.00 (Jerry and Brittany) on this project are no longer with the city.
Sounds like to me it was nothing to them then a resume line item!
Still think is was a HUGE mistake!
Maybe Adams School District 14 can fire Sue and hire back John Lange.
On a more serious note, I strongly thought that Larry Quintana is more qualified to be the president.
Amazing what 27J does with its limited funding.
If they ever pass a bond, possible we will see it again next year,
They could really take off.
CC wants to be industry. Bragging about it all the time.
It comes with all kinds of toxic leaks.
Everything comes at a price.
Easy industrial tax money will come with some headaches!
I suppose Suncor will want some kind of a tax credit from Commerce City for this accident in Sand Creek. Calling it a hardship.
As a point of clarification, Hancock does have the ability to make decisions. Denver has a strong mayor form of governement- no city manager. Commerce City has city manager-mayor form of government per the city charter. The means mayor and council provide direction and set poicy for the city manager, who makes the decisions.
Finally Flannery is leaving after 2years of actively job hunting. Now when is Acre going?
To Estelle's remarks --- huh?!?!? To complain that Tracy Snyder gave everything she had to see to the needs of her Ward and then say in the same breath that she only takes care of her people, is nuts. Apparently, her people were her constituants. Again, huh?!?!?
Estele has often written of her approval of past mayor natalie.
So-o-o-o-o, how come she says that it was only Tracey Snyder that voted to spend money in the core city? Didn't realize that one person on council, Ms. Snyder had the sole ability to spend millions all by her lonesome.

Because they never went to a BOE meeting in the last 4 years? Because they never called Mr. Vashaw. He tells his story on Ch8 all the time. He talks with parents and people all the time. He is open and honest about everything. Call him!!!!!
Just for the record, Tracey Snyder ran for the House District 32 seat (as a Republican) half way thru her first term on council, too.
So, Anonymous and Team Tracey,
When Tracey ran as a Republican against Ed Casso in 2006, BEFORE HER 1ST TERM FINISHED...how is that different than Dominick?
Apparently, any candidates who ran and did not know of Mr. Vashaw's past were not that involved in the district for the last 4 years, which could also be why they only made it as far as candidates. Perhaps they should at least view a board meeting once in awhile since he has discussed the subject numerous times. Perhaps they could have taken him up on the numerous offers he has made to call him that have been made publicly at meetings putting out his phone number. Perhaps they could have approached him at school functions (something only a person with an influential title with the city could do with his predecessor). Perhaps before furthering the negativity towards him, Larry, Tracey, or Dominick you should muster enough courage to converse with them, have an intelligent conversation with them regarding your issue(s). Then, maybe you can base your judgement on the ability of each to do the job they have set forth to do. After that if you feel that you must further address personal shortcomings, theirs or your own, then have the courage to do so by attending meetings, being publicly active in support of your positions, and putting yourself out there next election period. What everyone has lost sight of is that these people stepped up to be part of a solution. Can you say the same?
I dare any of you who have not talked to Pres. Vashaw to do so.
He is easy to talk to and is pretty much an open book.
He is a proven leader and will do the right thing for Adams School District 14!
But, don't take my word for it, call him up and have a conversation.
Don't listen to others and have them make up your mind for you.
Find out for yourself!
Hard to believe some of the candidates did not know about Robert's past. They must have really not been pay attention.
Maybe that is why they didn't get voted in!
Why were only some of the Commerce City council invited to the Farewell Party for Jerry Flannery at Commerce City Civic Center?
Jerry's goodbye party
heard dominick the donkey was invited along with past CC member kathy teter, but not tracey snyder.
Democrats for House 32 seat.
One in a flipper, the other is bailing out on his seat as mayor protem.
All sounds good! Should be a easy win for the GOP.
Finally the GOP gets a chance in this area!
to gop in cc,
don't count your chickens yet!
This is still Adams Cty. The Democrat will win, no matter who it is.

City development
I believe that the Mayor's position on the Council has a tie-breaker vote built into any deadlocks. When, there are certain members of city council that are constantly passing big money projects that benefit only their constituents that is called Pork in Congress and that is what is wrong with the 81 million dollars spent on just one part of the city. I would ask everyone to think about the city's future as a whole. For example, it will cost 16 million dollars to build a new Tower road. We can not develop the E-470 corridor according to our C3 Comprehensive Plan if we do not rebuild Tower road and bring it into the 21 century. If, you divide five into eighty-one million dollars it would come to 16.2 million dollars a year. So, we could have built Tower road five times over and would have had five years of business development on the E-470 corridor. Instead, we have Pioneer Park, etc., etc. Does anyone out there understand what I am saying? We took a detour five years ago and we need to get back on track. The entire city needs businesses and jobs beyond all the millions spent on the Core City for play and entertainment. I like Tracy as a person but she was one of the council members that took us down this path to nowhere as a city not just her Ward. Like a bridge to nowhere,we are stuck, providing state of the art parks, rec center upgrades and Boys and Girls clubs when we need to build roads and business districts for jobs. That's what the C3 Comprehensive Plan was all about! This is not bashing anyone that has not played a part in taking millions of dollars right off of the top of our city development. In today's economy we can not spend both ways. We can not expect one incentive plan to solve all our spending issues. City Staff develops all these plans and then city council takes the few dollars we have and spends it on Pork.
Why not have the party at the city owned restaurants
I would like to know how much the party for Lewis cost us in d14.
Estelle - a tie breaker vote is not a veto - if you don't understand the difference - do us all a favor and stop prognosticating on this blog, and as usual, you have all of your facts and figures confused and mixed up regarding development and costs.
I am proud to say that my boyfriend, Robert Vashaw, is the newly elected President of the Board of Education for Adams 14 School District. He is sincere and honest and has the best interests of the students, parents, and community in Adams 14 at heart. He loves kids and has 3 children and 2 grandchildren of his own.
Even though he is not paid for this position, he spends countless hours working to bring the best education to the students of Adams 14. I see him staying up late when an issue comes up that bothers him to try to resolve the issue. Since I have known Robert, he has attended every funeral for an Adams 14 student or graduate. Robert would love to see the community as a whole working together to help bring back not only a culture of confidence but a district that the community is proud of. This is why he is very excited about the newly elected board because he feels this board will work together to do what is best for the school district and community. He is also excited because the Commerce City community is wanting to work together as a whole; the School Districts, the City Council, the Fire Board, the Water Board, the parents, the businesses, and the entire community.
Thank you Robert for all that you do!
Kim Weber
I would like to thank everyone for bringing up issues on the Gateway News Blog. It really engages people of our community to talk and to take action. I do respect your opinion, even if I don't agree. That's the beliefs America was formed upon. If you don't agree with my thoughts or beliefs, that's ok too. I will respect that. We are all here to work for our kids in Adams 14. We all have ideas. We all have a plan. The most important thing I have learned about education is it changes daily and no one wants to be held accountable. I will take the blame. As a member of the Board of Education, I'm not afraid to say something is broken. I'm not afraid to make things happen and I'm not afraid to learn from mistakes. As I have always said, call me and we can talk about any issue including my past. I will always listen and I always vote on items based on my true beliefs. I am proud to be your new Adams 14 Board of Education President. I will do my best to help the new board educate our kids.
Please call,text or email.

FYI. The mayor position is NOT a tie breaker position, but a position like all other council members except he facilitates the meetings (in his own style) and is the leader at groundbreakings, etc. His vote is EXACTLY the same , as all the buttons are pushed at the same time. Again, the mayor is never a tie breaker, he is one of nine voters on council.
I understand Vashaw had some troubles that were years ago and victimless crimes.
What I really understand is that Vashaw has been clean and sober for years and years and years and years.
As someone who struggles everyday with addiction. I can only admire him.
For him to put in the time and heart into the leadership of our school district can only be commended.
Agree or disagree with him, he will still respect you.
What is Adams 14 going to do with the land over by gala gardens? Do they still own it?
Is Commerce City URA going to buy the old High School Site?
Is it ever going to be developed?
Why not make the old high school site residential?
What will happen to the current Superintendent? Is she here to stay?
I should watch or attend the school BOE meetings, but I can't with 2 little kids and part time job.
Tracey ran in the past mid-term because their was no one else running at the time.
It is different now because Dominick Moreno has another good candidate willing and ready.
It is a matter of the situation.
Dominick Moreno needs to do the right thing and finish his promise to Commerce City residents of ward one.
RE: "I am proud to say that my boyfriend, Robert Vashaw, is the newly elected President of the Board of Education for Adams 14 School District..."
I am confused, I thought Mr Vashaw was married with children?
OKAY! apparently no subject is taboo here.
Is Adams #14 going to try and float a mill over-ride in 2012?
tracy at all these fracking meetings?
of course she is! it is called CAMPAIGNING!
Response to "FYI. The mayor position is NOT a tie breaker position"
What happens when the mayor goes down the line to get direction from the other council members to direct staff and it is 4 to 4. Isn't the mayor in the tie breaking position?
True voice for the kids?
Please go to a BOE meeting and share your concerns with the BOE. Robert Vashaw said at his 1st meeting as our new Presedent that he would give you and your friends 3000 minutes to discuss your issues and concerns. Sounds like you have no clue what's going on in Adams 14? Or you just don't like him? That's ok. You have to live with your self. You sound like a bully. You sound like your trying to teach the kids how to bully? like other former Adams 14 people have? I could be wrong but use your writing for good not for Eveil. Please just don't try and bring down our District and our kids.

Congratulations to CCBPA Business of the Year, Tetra Tech (Joyce Waldroop) and Citizen of the Year, Trudy Smith! They are so deserving. The Gala at Werth Manor on Friday night was the best in years. Entertainment by the Prairieview High School jazz band was awesome and a lot of money was raised for local charities. So much fun. Thank you CCBPA!
Are you sure it not Re: True voice for Sue Chandler? Lol lol now that's funny Ms. Lewis.
Team Tracey,
I really don't understand how Dominick running now is any different from when Tracey ran during her first term. She ran as a republican nonetheless. Wow, it seems as if Tracey will do anything including switching party lines to get votes. She didn't succeed running as a republican so now is running as a democrat?? Her attendance at fracking meetings and talking with the residents is nothing but campaigning. She is fake and definitely not qualified to be running for house district 32.
The residents of Commerce City will ultimately make the right decision when they elect Dominick Moreno to HD 32!!!
I was at the Fracking meetings with Tracey Snyder and she was not campaigning at all! She cares about the citizens and is very worried about the Refuge and making sure nothing happens out there! Why is it that when someone like her is seen working for the people, some hateful people want to make it all about something it is not? Let Tracey do what she does-lead. She is a leader, and a good one at that!
Wow Pro Moreno, did you really put that comment in print "what is Traceys disability"?
Everyone knows she had a terrible accident in her garage that almost cost her her life! A shattered vertebrae and a ride in the Flight For Life, followed by over a month in the hospital critically injured sure sounds like a disability to me! Why does Dominick and Ed Casso always have to treat her so badly?? Give this woman who only wants to continue to lead a break! She came right back, even when in pain, and only wants to take care of our people! Seriously Pro Moreno and Pro Casso, you really hit below the belt!
Estelle,
I am sorry that you feel the families and the children in the south part of our City are "pork"!
Tracey made a promise that Pioneer Park would be done, and she worked for it. For many years the kids out here did not have anything like it either. It takes time. Our kids are not Pork and you are way out of line! Money has been spent in the North as well, and there would be no North without the South! What a hateful person you are! I am sorry for you that your opinions on this blog are so nasty and misinformed all the time!
Do you know why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on.
Some of the people that post blogs about others pasts, need to read the first paragraph over and over if need be to understand about the past & the future!
I have complete confidence in Robert Vashaw and the decisions he will make for our schools. After all he's in the position to make them not me. I’m positive that he would never make a decision without first taking into consideration the concerns of the public. Try sending more positive comments to our community’s leaders once in a while instead of always trying to run them down. It may just give them the encouragement to make the changes that are important for all of us without second guessing themselves!
And I quote" Commerce City, Thornton and Northglenn all have better Mayor Pro Tems than they do Mayors"..Ed Casso!
Wow Ed! Way to throw Mayor Ford under the bus after he was kind enough to choose Dominick to be his Mayor pro tem! Im sure he is giving that one a second thought these days!
You, Ed Casso, always have the gift of opening mouth and inserting foot!
Casso really really really likes Moreno. hmmmm.
"Do you know why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on."
Love this quote.
Wes and dkeys this one is for you both!
In response to
"Team Tracey said...
Casso really really really likes Moreno. hmmmm"
REALLY??? That comment is completely inappropriate! Talk about hitting below the belt. People DO NOT choose their sexual orientation. What someone chooses to do with their personal life is their business. Judge them based on their performance. If Tracey and her supporters are going to discriminate against someone because of their sexual orientation then I think they are going to lose a lot more supporters then they are going to gain.
"Casso really really really likes Moreno."
What ever do you mean?!
I am not Mrs. Lewis,
Rather a supporter of what is right and I know really bullying when I see it.
Example is when the ACSD 14 BOE censured Mrs. Lewis for no real reason!
Shameful!
Pork!
I did not call the children of the Core City, Pork, meaning meat. The dictionary calls political pork: Government money, jobs or favors used by politicians as patronage. (To get votes.) Pork Barrel: Government projects or appropriations yielding rich patronage benefits. (Votes or campaign contributions.) Please, take the time to look it up. For example, a Bridge to Nowhere in Alaska benefited private business and jobs in that area and the Governor was smart enough to shut it down. Tracey's vote to purchase Kronke's soccer suite and soccer fields do not benefit CC's children and likewise, the Boys and Girls Club will cost millions and benefit only a few hundred children. We have about 7,000 students in Adams #14 and about 7,999 or more CC students in 27J whom, I might add are losing most of their extra curriculum programs due to financial cuts. According to Supt. Sue Chandler in her State of the District report, Adams #14 has thousands of starving elementary children and about 1,000 homeless. You can still view this August report on Channel 8. This is taxpayer's money used to find favor with Core City residents. As far as, I am aware Tracey Snyder during her term on council never voted for any Northern Range improvements except perhaps the GID money for 104th. If, she has, please, post it for us. The only hateful things being said about anyone on this blog are the things you call me! As the King of England once said, "I have a voice."
Estelle,
I have so many things to say about your last comment!!!!!!!!!
I don't even know where to begin!!!!!!
Many Reunion residents, city staff, government reps met today. Big question about how SACWSD sold million gallons of water for fracking.
CW2: Fracking disclosure hearing set for Monday... http://t.co/cor0kE54
fyi,
Jerry's party was downtown Denver not at city hall.
I still think someone down at the water district had to know something about the fracking. Either they did not tell anyone or they told others and they decided not to tell anyone.
I hate this so much.
at meeting a comment was made the Adco Commish Alice Nichol did not know.
Find this hard to believe. Notification should have went out!
I know this is in the county, but Commerce City can still do a ban on it temporarily. It will not stop it, but it will send a message.
We are a home rule city. Lets use what power that gives us.
Estelle,
their is already a boys and girls club in 27J in Brighton.
There is NO real boys and girls club in Adams 14 at all currently.
As ridiculous as it is, this area is in desperate need of one.
KSE box at stadium is suppose to be used for getting ED connections.
It is not that untypical.
I would really like to know why Commerce City is being quite about the Suncor Spill of Material that is known to cause cancer in sand creek.
I thought we had a office of emergency management, or did they get cut in the budget?
My opinion, Jeannette Lewis is the meanest and biggest bully the town has ever known. Those other board members showed courage censoring her. They did the right thing.
Estelle Remington, I can't even put into words how shocking your remarks are.
Thank you Mr. Moreno for speaking for Commerce City
I have to agree anonymous’s remarks about Janette Lewis being a mean bully. If you weren’t anyone of importance you were nothing as far as she was concerned. I would have censured her long ago if I was in a position to do so because she was so mean! According to what the other board members said the night she was censured, there were many reasons for doing what they did. We in the North watched her on channel 8 just to see what or who she would target next. We all felt so bad for her fellow board members for having to put up with her shenanigans and not even get paid to do so! She can’t leave with her head held high because she’s burnt so many bridges. Many people have nothing nice to say about her and she brought it on herself. She didn't have to ruin people's opinion of her by acting the way she did. She could have came across as a powerful leader without stomping on everyone in her path.
I talked to Tracey Snyder right after the article on the front cover of Denver and The West. This was the article that told about Dominick being an At Large Member of the NLC group for Gays and Lesbians. Her response was that she was not going to respond to any of that and that her focus was on her campaign and her platform.
So, just because someone wrote that comment about Ed and Dominick, that does NOT mean that Tracey has ever said anything of the sort! And lets not forget that almost 100% of the time it is not Tracey, but it is Ed and Dominick, that continue to throw punches below the belt!
Anyone who knows Tracey knows that she doesnt go around saying such things!
Tracey Snyder was once again at the meeting with the citizens from the Northern range at Landmark Academy about Fracking. I wanted to personally thank her for being a part of this and for her contact with the office of Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar.
Thank you Tracey!
Talk about inappropriate- why does Representative Ed Casso continue to say and do the worst things? Does he have no respect for anyone other than his little bunch of buddies? Saying that the three surrounding Cities have better Mayor pro Tems than Mayors is just another cheap shot on non partisian leaders with whom you would think he would show at least a bit of respect! They are, after all, his peers! Nancy McNally is one of the finest Mayors to serve her City. And Heidi Williams will do a fine job as well, and Sean Ford is an experienced leader for Commerce City.
This is what we are saying about why we need to be rid of Ed, and not elect his boy Dominick, because the days of bad behavior should be over! Shameful Ed Casso! Shameful!!
FYI. The mayor does not carry a tie breaker vote. Unless he requests to abstain from the vote, he votes on every issue, just like every other councilmember. The electronic roll call buttons are pushed and recorded at the same time. All votes are posted on the screen at the same time. Sometimes, the votes surprise the councilmembers themselves. The voice vote is usually "all in favor, say aye, all opposed say nay, or same". If a clarification on the voice vote is necessary, the clerk will call the roll for the vote. A "consensus" of the council might be for something rather minor, not covered by policy, budget, zoning, etc. For instance, a consensus might be taken to decide when it is convenient for the council to interview for boards and commissions. A consensus is never about budget, zoning, policy or any quasi-judicial governing of the city. Many mayors in the past chose to make their specific intentions known about how they were going to vote during the "discussion" part of the vote process. Mayor Ford, for example, is always forthcoming about where he stands on a specific issue after he hears the pros and cons.
Hey Commerce City IT Department, the new broadcasting of the meetings are professional, clear and just plain great! Thank you. Also, Mayor Ford and the rest of the new council look professional, sound professional and even with difficult subjects (like fracking) show a new respect for each other, the staff and the citizens. Brings back a sense of pride.
Kathy McIntyre was Mrs. Claus at the CCBPA event for the children of Commerce City last Saturday. She was perfect! Thanks, Kathy.
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has been so supportive of my time on Council, and my candidacy for State House District 32. I want to win this election so that I may continue to take care of the good people of Commerce City and House District 32.
That being said, there have been a few comments made that I know would never come from real members of Team Tracey. Please do not be fooled by those who would try to make it seem that we are mean spirited or discriminatory against others. Our team does not work that way.
Although I have tried, on multiple occassions to work with Ed Casso, that just has not worked out. Our focus is not on Mr. Casso. Our focus is on the future, and the issues, and on what is important to the people of Commerce City.
I want to be clear that while I was elected twice to represent Ward 4, and I believe that together we have done great things, I care about, and want to work hard for, our entire City. I was on the General Improvement District for over eight years, which means I, along with the other members of City Council, was a part of all votes and projects, North and South.
Our campaign is strong, we have wonderful supporters, and I thank you all very much! It is time for more women and strong leadership in the State House! It is time to move past rumors and negativity that takes the focus off of what is really important. Should you wish to speak to me personally, please feel free to give me a call.
To the future! Let's keep our eyes on the ball and keep moving forward in a positive way!
God Bless and Merry Christmas,
Tracey Snyder

Democrats win fight over Colorado Congressional boundaries!
Way to go Dominick! Our next House rep!
http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_19473229
Hope you all watched city council last night. If you missed it. You should watch the SUNCOR part. Dominick kisses up to SUNCOR for spill in Sand Creek.
So sad to see someone not get upset at such a irresponsible act like dumping liquid in the water that can cause cancer.
All Domiinic did was believe everything SUNCOR told him and then he praised them.
Do we really want someone like this in the Colorado State Government representing us?
We should do not!
So I guess oil spill is not as a big of a deal as the media made it out to be?
According to Steamboat Today ( http://bit.ly/tL1zlT), county officials are reviewing as many as 19 possible additions to local regulations on drilling.
Colorado counties race to regulate oil, gas drilling... http://tinyurl.com/744xnjn
Fine, if the new ACSD BOE Directors are going to be so open and honest. Why don't they just come out and say what their plan is for the Superintendent Sue Chandler!
Cherokee Natural Gas Pipeline Project Meetings
Come see our revised proposed routes for the project that xcel developed based on feedback collected at our May and June public open houses, and from meetings with local government officials and staff. xcel will also provide an overall project update, answer your questions, and listen to your comments.
Tonight from 4 to 7 p.m. we'll be at the Brighton Recreation Center, 555 N. 11th Ave. in Brighton, and tomorrow from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Otho E. Stuart Middle School, 15955 E. 101st Way in Commerce City.
looks like "team tracy" is upset because Dominick is getting all the attention for a major success with the MORENO MAP!
Big difference in the feel of Council meetings in Commerce City.
The council is taking the wheel. The staff is there for giving advice.
Maybe it is because we have the right people on the us finally!
Good reason to annex all these little enclaves in Commerce City, it will dictate that all the mineral interest will have to go before city council.
Just do it CC Council!
Estelle likes Domimik, therefore I will support Tracey Snyder!
From the REAL Team Tracey.
Thanks to CO House Candidate Tracey Snyder for all that you have done so far for all of us.
Yes, some of the other "team tracey" comments were not by us.
We know that the real Team Tracey is made up of good honest loving people who only want the best for Commerce City and the entire area in this house district.
Tracey is in this from the heart. She knows all of the issues that we are all facing and she does have the leadership ability and most importantly the experience to deal with each and every one of them.
God Bless You All and please consider supporting Tracey
I have no doubt that Snyder has a good heart.
BUT, being TRUE to your Heart is what really bothers me.
I can not for the life of me understand how someone can run for the exact same position in the no so distance past as a Republican?
This action by Snyder tells me a lot about how she operates.
I am a registered Democrat in Adams County for more years then most of you have most likely been alive. It is sad that we have this in-party fight. Moreno is clearly the better person for the job. Maybe Snyder can run for the Adams County Commissioners seat that is coming up, then take on a state level position.
That is if she does not flip back to being a Republican again.
We all on our Block are Supporting TRACEY S. for D32!
Ivy Street, Commerce City!
The 2011 Colorado Department of Education Accreditation Ratings:

Individual schools are classified into four categories:

Adams County School District #14 - Accredited with Turnaround Plan*... Final % of Points: 38.6
School District 27J - Accredited with Improvement Plan... Final % of Points: 54.1
*The schools or districts listed as "turnaround" or "priority improvement" need to make academic gains quickly in the coming years, or else the state may take measures against the school or district.
looks like D14 has their work cut out for them! I will be watching.
So are any of the people (city staff) who decided to buy the dog track around any more?
Or did they just stick the new city council with a 4 million dollar "FU"?
Xcel's Cherokee Repowering & Natural Gas Proposed Pipeline Route Map for Commerce City...
http://t.co/Mx6JPC6W
So xcel pip will still go down 104th?
How is it that if you want water from South Adams Water you have to annex into Commerce City, but if you have water but want millions of gallons you do not have to do anything.
Seems to me that any request for additional water should have a rule that you have to annex into the city.
Still no news about sue (super at d14)?
Looks like throwing money at a problem is not always the answer. I am always been told that 27J has less money per student then Everyone else in the area and yet they somehow are able to out perform Adams 14.
Maybe Adams 14 needs to really look at who is on the bus and if they are the right people moving forward.
I read in the Denver Post a while ago that ACSD14 was going to be working on an "Exit Strategy" with their current Superintendent. It failed 2 to 3. Now we have new people in there, are they going to explore another "Exit Strategy" option?
Or are they going to keep the leaders they have now?
I will be interested in seeing the results from Suncor's geo probes and core sampling of the spill area.
GN,
Keeping with the Commerce City organizational chart, do you know who will be the city manager and who the two deputy city managers will be?
Congrats to MR. MORENO (CC Mayor Pro Tem and Future CO State Rep (D).
Colorado Supreme Court has affirmed the Moreno/South congressional redistricting map approved by Denver District Court.

To Core
The boundaries for the SAC Water District are different from the boundaries for the city. If they're in unincorporated Adams and in the water district, why is it that they should have to annex? I don't follow your argument.
Building Trust
Mayor Ford and City Manager, McBroom are doing a fantastic job thus far. They are leading the city in a very positive way and building the trust people need in these hard economic times. I would give them an A+, Four points on Fracking and city development. Perhaps, citizens will start to attend meetings if they know they will have an opportunity to say something that someone will listen too. This is something, we all want to be a part of. I enjoyed reading Tracy Snyder's note to the blog. She is a very gracious lady that also doesn't like the mean minded comments some writers are commenting in her name. Let's get real facts out there! I liked the discourse on tie-breaking votes. We are all learning a lot, I have a lot of hope for CC in the future.
natalie will never get that RTD spot!
Commerce City Council Member Jason McEldowney proposed two items at the last council meeting that received unanimous council support:
1- Emergency ordinance to institute a 6 month moratorium on drilling in commerce city while they assess the current laws concerning oil & gas
2- Drafting of a letter to the Adams County Commissioners seeking their support of a moratorium on any such activity in the Commerce City growth boundary (unincorporated areas like the one next to Reunion)
I completely agree with Estelle, Mayor Ford and the City Council as well as new Interim City Manager get an A+ on meetings, action items and the huge surprises they got with fracking and the oil spill. A new city council and staff working in concert with each other. I liked how Mayor Ford kept the meeting going in peace. They all have a long road ahead of them to bring the city back to its visons of the future. Good luck, we are with you and feel new hope.
Totally heartbreaking news about Adams 14, whose CDE report card showed them at the bottom of the school districts. A few years back, with Dr. Lange at the helm as well as people like Derrell Younger, this school district was stratigically moving ahead. This is also former BOE President Lewis' final failing report card. The new board needs all of our prayers and support. I can't imagine where they are going to start.
the fracking operation packed up and left - any news?

Still a locked gate at s. lawn well, but all equipment is gone.
Is it over?
I think the ACSD 14 school board meeting on Dec 13th. Are they going to try and pull some crap then?
Wonderful time at Derby Winter Festival!
Thank you Community Enterprise for all of your hard work!

Is the B.O.E. going to pull some carp at the Dec.13, 2011 meeting!
Do you have inside information that no one else knows? Do you get your information from someone that knows something we as acommunity doesn't know. Like from some one in the ESS building. Maybe someone at the top? How low can the district go on the state report card? We are at the bottom, the lowest we have ever been under this administration and Lewis's control of the district. We have more schools doing academically the lowest ever. Our sports are really bad, except for soccer. We have to stop this downward spiral. We need to start thinking of the students, and not filling there(adminstrtive cabinet) own money pockets. THINK ON THE POSITIVE OF WHAT IS BEST FOR OUR KIDS.

Hey! Let's give this new school board a chance! Fabulous people on this board who have the very difficult job of trying to bring this district back to a place of pride, community and solid education!
I like the effort of the Commerce City Council on the Fracking Issue in the South Lawn area of Reunion in the Northern Range.
Agree with Estelle,
I would give them an "A" so far too.
Wonder how long this will keep up.
d14 has their work cut out for them?
No kidding, that is the obvious truth.
The difference now is that the BOE can concentrate at the tasks at hand instead of playing head games.
Good people in place to take this on!
School Districts have to be result driven.
Result in Adams 14 shows me that a change in leadership (Staff) is needed!
Sorry that is just the honest truth.
We are talking about our kids future here. Not a light subject.
Is Commerce City ever going to create a real website for the Victory Crossings Area?
It was announced such a long time ago.
Why was a informational website not created right away?
Makes one wonder if we have real professionals working down at city hall.
We saw Tracey Snyder, with her daughter and the little guy, putting up a tree earlier in the day before Derby's Christmas event. Even though it was cold and we know she is still hurting in her back, when we talked to her she said that she, along with others that were out there, was very happy to do it.
This is what we are trying to tell everyone in Commerce City that Tracey is all about. I dont know what else anyone would want in the State House. A strong leader, kindness and heart, experience, tough when she needs to be, goes out of her way for the children of our City, just for starters.
What else could we want? Nothing. Tracey is the clear choice. Those of us who know her, love her. We know she is still in pain but that doesnt stop her.
Please consider supporting Tracey for House District 32!
What grade did your school get? I would like to encourage all to visit the following web site:
http://www.coloradoschoolgrades.com/
You can gage how your school is doing compared to other schools around the state in an easy to understand process. Check it out.
finally something happening at Victory Center. This is the area around the civic center for all of us who forgot what the hell it was.
I want to say to the CCPD officers,
Thank you for all that you do.
I strongly believe that you guys are the best department in the metro area hands down.
how can one of the suggestion be a soccer filed at the old dog track site? doesn't the south have a rather large soccer site just down the street?
I urge the BOE of D#14 to work with Sue and move us b past always being the black cloud in Adams County.
Set aside your personal issues and please keep Sue in charge.
buying the dog track was still a huge mistake. what a waste of money.
private business would have take this over in a matter of time.
Boys and Girls club had many others places to go including the ideal place, right by the civic center and stadium.
Oh well, doesnt matter anyhow. Still needs tons of money to get it off the ground. That will not be anytime soon.
If the city of Commerce City dumps a bunch of tax payer money into the Old Dog Track (should really be renamed so we all stop calling it the "old dog track"), it is really going to make the people in the north upset.
They next project should be a rec center in the northern range.
Dog Track
A Trade School would be a wonderful idea for the Grayhound Park. And, it would compliment and build on our C3 Comprehensive Plan for job development and training for our CC workforce to get better than minimum or below wage jobs. (Enterprise Zone and Incentive Plan qualifications.) We have to do something to help those kids that have graduated or left the Adams 14 SD where students were passed on even though they had failed their grades for years. To teach skills like: computer, construction, drafting and design and heavy equipment operation, etc. This needs to be completely independent of the Adams 14 SD. Perhaps, Commerce City Tech School? Also, it could be a two year general State College degree? Has room for Dorms, etc. This would bring in jobs and income to CC.
I actually agree with Estelle.
I also think some kind of a vocational school would be a perfect fit at the old Dog Track.
Any vocational type institution would be perfect.
the reason why Natalie will not get the RTD position is the simple fact that he has reckless behavior when it comes to the public money.
Examples are the e-470 story done by Brian Mahass (Ch. 4) and the city managers house deal.
soccer fields at dog track?!
really?! are people really that stupid!
What a waste of time and resources.
I wish Paul would get on the RTD board. We need good strong GOP on some of these Adco positions.
Also it will help out Commerce City by having one of our own on there.
Adams County Board of Commissioners appointed Kathi Williams of Brighton to the RTD Board representing District K...
Once again the Adco Commissioners show disrespect to Commerce City by not picking Paul Natale for the vacant RTD position!
We all know he was the most qualified!
To the person who said that Tracy Snyder was upset by the supposed attention Dominck was getting on the "Moreno map", I say perhaps we should think again! Our own Governor Hickenlooper was not happy with the maps, as pointed out by the Post yesterday. The "Moreno map" makes Commerce City a "minority majority" city, which was the intention of Mr. Moreno. Oh I am sure he will come on this blog and say it isnt so, but we know it is. How do the rest of the people of our town feel about Dominick looking out for only one ethnic group and not caring less about the rest of us?? I personally am sick of it. Tracy is the better choice because she will represent everyone! I have never seen or heard her do anything to single out one group of people from another in our City. Tracy will not make this a race issue. Tracy will do right by every race, creed and color we have. Its Tracy folks. Dominick is not our guy.
COMMERCE CITY, COLO. – Police Chief Phil Baca informed city management he will retire from his position effective Jan. 2, 2012. A 34-year veteran of law enforcement, Baca served as chief for four years.
“I want to thank Chief Baca for his years of service to Commerce City and his commitment to building a Quality Community for a Lifetime,” said Brian McBroom, interim city manager. “During his tenure, Chief Baca implemented a strategic plan that consistently reduced crime and improved community relationships. This is a testament to his belief in the concept of community policing and improving accountability at all levels of the organization.”
Under Baca’s leadership, the police department created a new crime prevention unit, implemented a north-area substation, and secured funding for a new bicycle officer program. Baca also increased the department’s focus on youth prevention and outreach activities, partnering with the Parks & Recreation Department to secure grant funding from the U.S. Department of Justice for programs such as the city’s first-ever police camp and Cops vs. Kids athletics. He formed the Chief’s Youth Advisory Committee to understand the concerns and needs of area youth and co-organized the city’s first Cultural Diversity Summit.
“I am proud to have served the residents and businesses of Commerce City in a manner consistent with my beliefs and values,” said Baca. “My entire professional life has been committed to practicing and enforcing law. The city has made tremendous strides during my time as chief and I look forward to seeing further improvement and growth from this department in the future.”
A former division chief with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and lieutenant with the Denver Police Department, Baca plans to spend more time with his family, travel and hasn’t ruled out taking on future law enforcement opportunities.
McBroom stated ongoing business operations will be overseen by Lieutenant Chuck Saunier, who will serve as acting chief of police, reporting directly to the interim city manager. This appointment will be brought to city council on Monday evening for approval.
okay I give up!
What is the REAL story of why Baca left CC?!
I would thought that Chuck baker would have be the one taking things over, he did it last time when Hebbard had to resign.
Retire to "Be with my Family" usually is code for something bigger.
City Manager left, Economic Dev. Director Left, now Police Chief is going to be gone.
Is there something more to this or is it just a mass exit out of Good Ole CC?
Good Luck to Chief Baca!
A Good Guy!
Have fun in your retirement.
Congratulations to new RTD Rep., Kathi Williams! Very qualified and an excellent choice by the AC Commissioners. Commerce City Brighton, and all others will be well represented by the best choice.
Chuck Saunier is a highly respected member of the community and has earned the appreciation and trust of all who know him. He is a meticulous professional who cares for the community.
Drove by Tower road fracking site and saw activity, trucks and some new type of rig. Ugh.
If anyone sees, smells or hears anything sloppy going on, please report it to Colorado Oil and Gas Commission, EPA, etc...
The new Colorado fracking rules, that the press is raving about, mean nothing without oversight and monitoring.
Adams County and Commerce City have taken a back seat. Posting a web page and informing residents, really? Where's the site set backs, monitoring, strict permits, etc...
Nothing but a bunch of smoke and mirrors.
1. The "Moreno Map" refers to the Congressional redistricting, not the state legislative reapportionment. It made an argument regarding communities of interest, one of the legally allowable criteria in congressional redistricting.
2. Gov. Hickenlooper's comments referred to the recent decision regarding the reapportionment maps for State Legislative districts.
Two different things. Do your homework.
"In this case, after thorough review, the Court has determined that the lines should be drawn in a fashion consistent with the map characterized as the Moreno supplemental map or Moreno/South Map (hereinafter “Moreno/South”) for which an abundant evidentiary basis exists. The Court reached this conclusion only after careful review of all maps and an assessment of pertinent factors. The Court has concluded that the Moreno/South Map best reflects communities of interest as they now exist, while retaining compactness of districts, preserving as many political subdivisions as practical and disrupting prior district lines only as was absolutely necessary in order to best utilize all statutory factors."

Adams 14 grades are SO disappointing.
We are not doing ourselves any good by allowing this to happen.
Fire, change, revamp. Do whatever, but it has to end.
Commerce City,
That is one way to cut the budget, Let the bloated Commerce City staff, drop off like the dead weight they are and do not replace them.
I agree completely with the FOP Lodge 19.
Chief Baca has brought the city's law enforcement to a new level.
Congratulations to Mr. Moreno!
A lot of hard work went into the creation of the new boundaries.
Great Job Dominick!
A Natural Leader!
Usually when there is smoke there is fire.
Why would the police chief of cc, relatively young, just up and retire?
Why is not Baker the temporarily replacement? He was last time?
Is cc council going to look for a replacement?
Too many unanswered questions.
I like Cubbage to be the new CCPD chief.
Just saying, he has the most experience.
RE: Moreno Map
It is just a map. He still has to fulfill his obligation to the people of Commerce City before he jumps to bigger and better things!
Chuck Saunier is a great guy. I have known him for a long time, and this is the perfect spot for him!! Congrats!
I agree, it is just a map. And everyone knows where Mr. Moreno's loyalties lie these days, and it sure isnt with his poition on the Commerce City Council.
All of this could have been avoided if he would have just been satisfied to take his position on Council seriously, and wait for his time to come. Tracey Snyder did us proud while on Council, and took every duty seriously, including standing in as Mayor on multiple occassions. She even went to DC as Mayor. Its her time. Why cant Dominick just do the right thing? How can dividing your town ever be the right thing? Tracey announced months ago. Dominick waited and debated and couldnt make up his mind for months. Then he decides to run. Again I say, Dominick Moreno, get behind Tracey, work together with you on Council and Tracey at the State and work for the people who elected you! DO THE RIGHT THING!
To the person who said why are there always so many comments about Tracey on this blog- I say maybe you should consider that we all comment because we believe in her! We want her to represent us at the State House! If you know Tracey, you know she is kind, and she works hard, and she loves this town so much!
Breaking her back and fighting so hard to come back just made her more determined, where some would have given up, not Tracey.
People of Commerce City, lets stand up for Tracey and show her that she has fought for us, and now we will fight for her!
Get well Sean Ford. We love you and you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Past Commerce City Manager Perry Vandeventer Pleads Guilty To Obtaining Money From Casper Nursing Home...
http://t.co/78eiJxwQ
Very sad and disturbing news about Perry VanDeventer. May God help him to conquer his demons and bring restoration to his life. We pray for his family and those who have been hurt.
Get well, Mayor Ford. Be home before Christmas.
I am still wondering how Dominick running halfway through his term on city council is any different then when Tracey ran halfway through her first term on council?? Wasn't she "bailing" on the people of Commerce City?? Let me remind you....she ran as a republican. Dominick is much more qualified to represent Commerce City at the house. Maybe Tracey should do the right thing and drop out of the race.
Also there are so many pro Tracey comments because she writes them herself! They are posted by anonymous for that very reason. Hmm....just some things to ponder.
FROM SLEAZY BRIAN MASS'S REPORT ON CHANNEL FOUR "Michelle Halstead, Commerce City’s Communications Director, said the city council adopted some changes to its travel policy in October, cutting the amount each council member has for travel and eating, eliminating cash advance payments and personally charging council members who were absent from previously-committed events. (A whole $1000 WOW,JUST ABOUT FLANNERYS OLD CAR ALLOWANCE)
Halstead the changes were a result of ongoing discussions." OK HALSTEAD MAYBE CHANNEL NINE, A REAL NEWS STATION AND THE DENVER POST SHOULD COME ASK YOU ABOUT OVER $800,000 YOU ARE SPENDING ON WHAT??? really you should not have listened to Natale and Flannery, they won't be there for you anymore darling, maybe not a good idea to listen to bad people as the good people are NOW in charge.
GOOD LUCK HALSTEAD, YOU WILL NEED IT.
Chief Baca is NO longer with the city because he was part of the corruption that was Natale and Flannery. There is HOPE for our city now.
cant blame perry. he was used to getting anything he wanted with commerce city! And yes both Paul and Sean were on council when all this went down!
Maybe Baca will be working in Highands Ranch as a security guard with Jerry?
My God Adams#14 really has to improve!
27J could do better if we could pass a bond to actually teach the kids!
your wrong. there really is a Team Tracey!
The over whelming support for Tracey will show the truth!
Again,
Tracey ran in mid-term because there was no one else running as a Republican at the time.
She has nothing but good intentions for Commerce City, ALL of the people of Commerce City!
That is all in the past! That brings us to TODAY! She is able and willing, Mr. Moreno needs to concentrate on Commerce City Council Business, THEN move on to bigger things!
moreno I do not think will drop out!
hope sean gets better!
Maybe we will see moreno run the meeting on monday?
There is more to the CC Chief Story.
DO TELL!
Thought so, Too many unanswered questions.
I think the general public is much to intelligent to just read some generic story and not see thru it.
whatever happened to the whole china thing with commerce city?
now that everyone is gone, what do we do?
let the all the time and effort and resources just go to waste?
Over heard that Commerce City might see its first Medical Marijuana Dispensary sometime early next year.
Teenage Suicide
Because of an increase in U.S. population, there is an increase in teenage suicide. Teenagers commit suicide because of mental depression, drugs and bullying in their schools. We have had one or two teenage suicides over the years in CC that I am aware of. Major problems in Adams 14 SD are bullying, homelessness and 83% of students that qualify for reduced and/or free lunches. Spending millions of dollars on a Boys and Girls Club will do little to help against teenage suicide and school bullying and will only serve hundreds of children out of thousands that have serious problems. I would like to see these millions spent on the Old Adams City High School for a Missions Center and Soup kitchen for our homeless and hungry populations. We need in-school programs to educate against bullying and suicide and a 24 hour hotline for suicide prevention and a suicide center in Adams 14 SD.
P.S. 1 out of 45 children are homeless in U.S. due to the recession. 1.6 million are homeless across the U.S. That is an increase over these past 3 years of 33%. Diane Nilan is the Director of, Hear Us, a non-profit homeless program. (CNN News, Dec. 19, 2011.)
Dear COGA Members,
On Monday, December 19th, Commerce City plans to impose a 6-month
moratorium on oil and gas activity to allow for a review of their local regulations. Colorado has some of the most rigorous and comprehensive oil and gas regulations in the country. Please let your City Council members
know that it is time to learn more about the state regulatory structure and continue to allow responsible oil and gas exploration in Commerce City.
Council Members need to hear from oil and gas employees, families, and supporters. Please help us demonstrate the community support for the oil and gas industry.
Please attend Commerce City council meeting and make your presence known:
Monday, December 19th at 6:30 PM
Council Chambers
Commerce City Civic Center
7887 E.60th Avenue
Commerce City, CO 80022
If Commerce City knew about the new well on Dec. 7th, how come they did not tell anyone?
Thoughts and Prayers to the ACSD#14 teacher's family and friends who was tragically shot.
GN,
is there an internal investigation in the CCPD? It would be recent and would relate to the Chief?
I suggest that the anti fracking group in Reunion only have one speaker, so it does not gt too repetitive.
The people in Reunion have to understand that fracking is safe in Colorado and it creates JOBS!
Nothing is going to happen to your precious little houses!
Tracey Snyder isnt going anywhere. She will continue her fight to the State House, despite unfair efforts to scare her off (Ed Casso) and some from the party who just break the rules anytime they want!(you know who you are!)
If people were made aware of some of the things going on in the Moreno camp they would be pretty shocked!
Just another reason we like her so much, she doesnt lower herself to these kind of tactics!
Stay tough Tracey! We are standing strong for you!
Hello, my name is Commerce City North Range resident X. I bought my home within spitting distance to the former Rocky Mountain Arsenal. The arsenal was formerly (just a few years go)the most contaminated super-fund site on the earth. So much mustard gas was pumped into the ground that it caused tremors - but this was supposedly all cleaned up spickity span! Now I don't want some simple fracking within the same distance from my home despite the fact the chemicals used in fracking look like sugar compared to mustard gas. I did not do my research - I was stupid and listened to the house "SALES PERSON". I did not know it was a formerly contaminated site, I did not know it was in Commerce City and I bought my house here because it was CHEAPER that similar new houses in the area (I didn't think I should find out why - it wasn't important- it is important now). Unfortunately, I can't admit I bought because it was cheap and that I did not do research to find out where it was and what was adjacent to my house - now I want to cry about it and tell everyone how wrong everyone else is but me ...boo hoo!
trash dump, fracking, stinky oil refineries, horrible driving conditions, most of the states no English speaking illegal immigrants...you people are surprised why??????
