I am wondering if the cost of this Vail adventure is really fair to the citizens.
Dustin McIntyre's article on Memorial Day was sobering and echoed are own thoughts of loved ones and friends who died fighting for our country.
The article on Adams 14 school-based health clinics should be read by all. Hope the article is reprinted on the Gateway site. The data is clear about the poverty in the southern part of Commerce City and the demographics of same. Since that school district is in such turmoil and is disfunctional, we must all look for solutions to help these residents which will help Commerce City as a whole. Hate to say this but it looks like Estelle Remington's stats were right.
Commerce City Parade Awards: Best Expression of Theme: American Legion Post & Auxiliary Unit 151. Best of Parade: VFW Post 4444 – Currie Toles/Gary A Carstens. Most Creative: Marine Corps League – Frank J. Carroll Detachment.
Thanks to all who participated.
I like the Veterans as Parade marshals for the Commerce City parade. I think what would really be neat is if Commerce City could have CO-MARSHALS - A Veteran or Veterans escorting a family member of a fallen soldier. I can think of two families right away in Commerce City.
Commerce City could even go outside its boundaries if it had too.
It would bring back the day to those who died (Memorial Day) and not so much those who are alive, (Veterans Day).
CC could have a Veterans Day Parade too in November.
One Parade Commerce City should have is a Cinco De Mayo Parade!!!!!!!!!!
Hyde, I think that is a good idea. Commerce City has come close to a sort of organized cinco de mayo celebration. This could happen in the near future.
SORRY BUT I SAY NO TO A CINCO DE MAYO PARADE! AT LEAST NOT A CITY ORGINIZED ONE!
Dustin,
Thank you for the article about the young man Daniel.
I thought you only took great photos, turns out your a great writer also.
Commerce City DERBY DAZE will be Saturday, June 11th from 11am - 5pm. A FREE event located in Derby area of Commerce City at Magnolia & 72nd
what is derby daze and why is it misspelled?
Derby DAZE is a cultural event in the Commerce City Proper. Please come on down, it is a Great Community EVENT! FOR ALL!
After having a discussion with 3 different people about the same subject I decided to get clarification about what the Commerce City Charter rules are regarding Appointments and Elected positions as far as term limits. The following is the clear clarification from Commerce City:
Appointment or election for completion of another council member’s four-year term does not count toward the eight-year term limitation of a council member. For example, an appointment to complete another council member’s term nor an election for two years to complete another council member’s term count toward the term limitation.
Dustin,
Great information, can you please twitter that and put it on your Cover Stories. I know some who had a completely different interpretation on it.
Thanks again for the clarification!
WOW! that means McEldowney could be in office for a total of 10 years!
Thats a lot of Kudos this, Kudos that.
I'll tell you one thing, if this would have passed, it would have made Derby Daze WORTH IT!
http://commercecity.civicweb.net/FileStorage/B4FB064137544504BFC81545D96FAF4E-WorkspaceLIQUOR%20RENEWAL.pdf
Can you find out why the liquor authority illegally denied Community Enterprise their liquor permit for Derby Daze?
I'd rather not have a cinco de mayo formal celebration in CC.
We are trying hard to make the metro area realize we are a diverse community.
I have hispanic relatives, but do not feel that spotlighting one nationality in our city will benifit it.
Those who want to celebrate within their families and friends, clubs etc. great.
As a city, I think we should be inclusive.
Parades like memorial day are about the country...those who defend it...not about any specific race or group.
the city needs to get the illegals off our roads before I take the chance driving to the core city for anything.
We need to move American celebrations to the us citizen part of the city.
Can't believe someone would suggest we celebrate mexicans sneaking into the country. If that person wants to help mexicans go an make protest for change in mexico. write letters to the mexican authority for change and opportunity.
To be honest,
liquor authority did treat communcity enterprise unfairly, NO REASON why they should have been denied, period.
The last thing that old town Derby needs is a beer garden at Derby Daze. Isn't this suppose to be for families? Its also unfair to the restaurants in the area that have liquor licenses. I'm not on the Liquor Authority and not connected to Community Enterprise, but it seems to make sense to keep this a family thing since Community Enterprise stands for helping neighborhoods and families.
Gateway, who has applied for the open seat on city council?
you hit it on the head. derby daze events should stay as a family event.
so far a great family commerce city tradition.
So what! Derby DAZE can still be a "FAMILY EVENT" with a little beer. Not a big deal!
Liquor Authority should have done the right thing and NOT discriminate against Community Enterprise.
City DID NOT discriminate against community enterprise
GN just posted list of people going for Johnson's vacant seat WOW!

Can't WAIT for CC Council to appoint LEFFEL TO COUNCIL!
Boy it will be fun!
What makes you think leffel is the one to be appointed?
Robert Toavs!!!!!!!!!
YES ALL THE WAY!
anyone who knows anything already knows it will be Paolo Diaz.
Instead of making predictions, why not wait until the candidates interview! Then decide who is the best individual for the job!
I agree with pro city.
Lets give these people a chance to see how they act in public before we start guess who council will choose.
or ole cc council could bypass the dog and pony show and just appoint Paolo Diaz
Just so no one is surprised at the Commerce City Council meeting on Monday night, Paolo Diaz is the person that will be appointed. Friend of Paul Natale, so no one else even has any chance. Sorry folks but this city is ruled by threats and intimidation. Remember the last appointment, second verse same as the first. McEldowney had Natale too. So Diaz will be spending the weekend getting prepped for his big reveal. Remember to vote in November.
Wonderful article about Commerce City.
http://denver.yourhub.com/CommerceCity/Stories/News/Nonprofit/Story~992217.aspx
that is a great list. I don't know a lot of these names. This is what a call to the public should look like.
for what? the appeasement of illegals?
Wow, I didn't know Natale's vote was so much bigger than the rest. I understood that there were eight on the council.
Sounds to me like someone is trying to sabotage Diaz, by making up rumors.
Typical of a few in this city.
Since this is open interview, I think it won't be hard too hard to see which candidates look really good.
anyone on the list a lawyer? god knows we do NOT need any more council lawyers.
Anyone know the questions that will be asked to the Commerce City Candidates?
Commerce City Council will need to agree on 3 or 4 interview questions that can be asked of each the on MONDAY night.
List of people interest in Tony Johnson's seat has to be some kind of a record.
21 people is unbelievable.
coucnil needs to ask if any of these candidates know the structure of the city.
The have to realize that they are only 1 of 9 and really do not have that much power.
Commerce City staff can basically do whatever the hell they want, city council does not have much say.
A lot of what happens in the city can be done "administratively"
All council can do is just sit and watch.
just to clarify the comment by "dkeys"
the city manager runs the day to day operations of Commerce City.
the council sets the direction.
I say ask the candidates what there favorite food, color, and last book they read.
isn leffel the most qualified?
dusty,
can you put on here somewhere that these are just peoples opinions and not facts?
Yes,
It is at the top of the page "Opinions a.k.a. "THE BLOG"
maybe in the monthly explanation also?
Yes I can.
pro city 2.0,
Let me know what you think of new description in the monthly explanation.
yes, that is much better, thank you.
PLEASE ATTEND THE XCEL MEETINGS ON TUESDAY JUNE 7 AND TELL XCEL WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT A NATURAL GAS PIPELINE BY YOUR HOME OR SCHOOL.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pipeline_accidents
thanks procity,
glad we got that squared away.
How can the council appropriately interview these candidates in just 10 min. each?
council should split this up between 2 meetings. too many candidates for one marathon meeting.
I don't think Council can because of the timeline. Charter says they have to appoint within 30 days of ones resignation.
GN,
do you know how they the Commerce City Council will determine who will be appointed,
Do they all just pick a favorite? How do they choose?
I will need to confirm, but I do believe it is a point system.
I will verify with city and post as soon as I can.
isn't this CC sister city?

DeVotchKa Denver Based - Commerce City Sister Lyrics
Can I sleep in your arms tonight sister
Can I lay down with you here tonight
I would shield you from the morning sun
We'll stroll arm and arm in the kingdom come
Can I sleep in your arms tonight
You know I ain't never going back to Commerce City
Who knows how many times they've taken my last twenty dollar bill
There ain't no love lost there ain't no more time to kill
All my brothers they're up on Jersey landfill
And I ain't never going back to that town
Can I sleep in your arms tonight sister
Can I lay down with you here tonight
Cuz hearing your voice can remind me of better days
This is the voice that can carry me away
Let me sleep in your arms tonight
Darling wasn't it true what we learned
As the whiskey finally eats your heart
And where was that place I was born tonight
It's the one that leads straight to your heart
Can I sleep in your arms tonight sister
Can I lay down with you here tonight
Let me sleep in your arms tonight
Can I sleep in your arms tonight sister
Yuri,
I like this song. I say NEW theme song for city.
What the hell does it mean? Refinery?
funny how no one is Commerce Town is suppose to have internet, but yet EVERYONE has the list of 21 candidates.
any reason why so. adams water did not include their water report in city news?
isnt that just gov paying for double postage? gov. waste or something else?
dkeys (Derrick),
If you keep complaining and pointing out wasteful governmental practices, you will be written off as just a complaining resident as others have.
just heard sarah palin say on Fox News, that she is very much against the annexation of areas into cities. Some call a 'forced annexation'
my point is that if palin is for it, I think Commerce City staff and council did the right thing.
Back of the room,
I don't count attendance to meetings as a qualification. Yes personal interest, but it doesn't make you a councilman anymore than sitting in a garage makes you a car.
It might give him an insight to city issues and directions, which "should" mean he would be able to interview well.
It certainly doesn't mean he has the understand/background to be the best.
dkey, our sister city is "Nanning" which is close to the VietNam boarder.
I heard that it was the water dept full annual report.
Does anyone know why Rene Bullock is pushing so hard for Gene Leffel to get in to Tony Johnson old spot.
Gateway, do you know the story behing that?
Maybe after the council conducts the first round od interviews they could narrow the applicants to three finalists and the next day conduct a deeper interview with each finalist to better get to know them and then select the winner.
Love the idea of picking the top three and doing a second round of interviews.
This is how the city does it for their positions, such as the new economic development specialist.
No way anyone of the Commerce City Council could anticipate 21 applicants for .
They may have been a cheerleader for certain residents before, such as a couple at the 'back of the room', but 21 wanting to be on council is a game changer. I don't what happened but it is a different event now.
I read that this might be some kind of a record of interest. I am telling you IT IS A RECORD!
Love the out pour of interest.
Like I said, I don't know why, but it is a WIN-WIN for everyone!
Gee wiz - the appointed person on Council will be there less than 6 months - barely enough time to figure out which button to push for the microphone. it doesn't matter who it is - they will have to run for the seat in November - everyone interested sees this as a leg up if appointed because of a little bit of experience and a little name recognition.
21 people applying for the position sort of dictates that there should be finalists.
Commerce City council is in for a long night.
So what happens if they can't get a majority vote? Do they keep voting until they get a majority? And do they tell the results of the first round on voting?
I thought for sure CC council did a point system before. This way seems more fair.
a majority vote? interesting
Why is it secret, what cant it be known? are they afraid of something?
gn, can you find out why the vote of the vacancy has to be a secret vote and not open to the public?
I completely understand why it is a "secret vote".
Would you want the entire public to know how you voted?
pro city2,
for regular citizens, I say NO, but for my elected politicians, I say YES!
so, 9 council members have to come up with questions, interview 21 people and then some how come up with a majority vote of those 21 for a winner?
I am no math wizard, but isn't that almost impossible?
Wishing all the Applicants tonight GOOD LUCK!
They do they interviews, then they take the first vote, I assume without talking to each other?
Then do they reveal that first vote, which mathematically would NOT be a majority? then vote again?
all secretly of course.
No know says the system is not perfect, but it has to be done, what is the alternative? Would you rather NOT have the seat filled?
THANK YOU PROCITY2!
First of all, it makes no sense to give a Denver based Mexican Counsel a CC Award for the speedy processing of 6,000 new arrivals over several states. Unless, they have provided a specific service to our city. I am currently recovering from back to back major surgeries, so, I am very tired. If, someone could research and contact our city clerk to find out why this CC Award was given to this Mexican Consul and the real facts around this award it would be great.
Secondly, it is inhumane, without feeling or pity, and abusive to keep up speedy processing of new arrivals into CC when we are currently economically stressed beyond our capacity or ability to do so and have been since 2008 in the Adams 14 School District. For example, if, a person boards horses and already has 25 starving horses on their pastures but insists on taking in 25 more horses just to double their money. But, does not have the actual pastures available to feed these animals then that is abusive and inhumane without pity on these animals. Saying, the grass is there you will have to fight to survive. This is what CC is doing today, saying to thousands of immigrants you can come in but we can not take care of you economically but we want your "use taxes" and federal and state benefits. As a city, we need to close the door on the abuse of thousands of immigrants just to get them to live in the Adams 14 School District. It is time to do a comprehensive survey to find out what is really happening in Adams 14.
Tonight Parents for 27J Students will meet from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at District Training Center 80 South 8th Avenue in Brighton...
GN: any word back on the numbers illegal immigrants voting in commerce city? Can you obtain the list and publish the list of names and addresses?
so far this is easy for council
SO, I learned something.
Just because you attend every class, does not mean your the brightest.
I am watching this on TV. Seriously, not that impressed with any of the candidates so far.
Anonymous,
RE: the numbers illegal immigrants voting in commerce city
I did get a "out of office" reply. I am pressing the issue and expect to have some kind of a response by the end of the week.
thanks dusty, i am also very interested in the number of illegals that actually voted in CC.
I think that are called "UN-DOCUMENTED" NOT "ILLEGALS"
cheo, you got to be kidding me!
whatever Cheo!
illegal is illegal, and voting when your illegal is even more illegal!
I heard that there is great things happening in Commerce City that we don't know about?!
Does anyone know details, so we can all get the word out?!
council should just decide tonight, having a entire week to go over top three sounds like potentially fix the outcome.
Not that I don't trust this council, it is I just don't trust this council.
group didnt do to bad so far, those are some hard questions, I dont know the answers to most of them!
screw budget question, ask about the actual revenue and what the hell happened?
I know, global economy meltdown, yet our neighbors seem to be doing just fine.
Dusty,
Did city do a criminal background on these people that are running for Johnson's seat to see if they can run for council?
being a past criminal is not part of the criteria of a council position.
Requirements to run for City Council:
• Citizen of the United States.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Resident of Commerce City for at least 12 months preceding appointment.
• Resident of the ward (not applicable for at-large seats) for 25 days immediately preceding appointment.
• Cannot currently be serving a felony conviction (including probation or parole).
Please see more information at this link:
http://www.ci.commerce-city.co.us/index.aspx?nid=268
surprised CC didn't hire a consultant group to figure out the questions and selection process.
I second that Leary!
know what else is NOT a criteria for being a city council representative,
being a life long resident.
Commerce City Council doesn't want any trouble makers, don't expect the best and brightest to be appointed.
so budget question was a tough one. don't feel bad guys, I didn't know the answer either.
remember, this is a position is only a ONE seat of NINE.
was thrift store on hwy 2 moving to another city part of our successful economic development incentive program?
Belle Creek, Leary, Dkeys and In the Know....I see that none of you applied.
Yet you are full of criticism and advice.
It is much easier to hide behind the key board aye?
I hope the thrift store moved as part of an incentive program. Now maybe we can get a quality type business in that spot!
I agree that council should have voted tonight.
What makes you all think council will not know what they others top 3 choices are, don't council talk to each other?
have to agree, that interviews were disappointing. Lots of mis-information.
and also agree with the complainers, who didn't apply should not be complaining.
I pay taxes, it is my right to complain as much as I want.
As much as you all want this to be China, it will not be, SORRY!
As a resident, I am the BOSS of the council/city staff!
heard only 16 interviewed? thought we had 21 apply?
I thought of a good idea.
Why cant we have a annual soap box Derby Race in Derby (Commerce City). Call in the Derby in Derby, or part of Derby Daze?
dkeys....doesn't matter if they do.
The city clerk is holding the results of the top 3 positions. Even if some compare notes, the final vote for the appointment will be in public, next Monday.
Nice idea Erin.....but I think we need a hill to do a soap box derby?
To Erin: What a great, positive idea! The cars could even be miniatures so lots of people could participate. The boy scouts do this in some areas.
dkeys, (Derrick)
I think the only reason you are so passionate about this is maybe you have a friend or neighbor in the race for the at large position?
gn,
can you get the top names council decided on for Monday?
Erin,
I love the idea too. It could really fr the 1950s theme the area has established. But a hill is needed. Unless you have some kind of a ramp.
Now we just need a champion to get it started.
The following list are the candidates that did not participate in the interview process for the Commerce City at-large vacancy position...
Carl Goolsby
Daniel Alire
John Prestwich
Jason Lux
Kimberly Novitch
I have not agreed with all council has done, but it has been refreshing to see the interviews done in public.
I think the process has been as fair as possible, with the scoring methods and all ratings turned in to the city clerk in a public manner.
Unless of course, you are conspiracy person, and trust no one.
refreshing to see the interviews done in public?
when did council ever have interviews in private?
From mayorpaulcc: We had some phenomenal candidates tonight. I hope that at least a couple of them decide to run for Mayor. It will move our city way ahead.
phenomenal? lets not over exaggerate.
okay candidates at best. and yes some will decide to run for mayor.
mayorpaulcc - I bet your vote will be race based and not developed upon qualifications. You've lost the confidence of the people who have taken the gamble moving into commerce city.
I say if you didn't interview...than you shouldn't suggest they were "Okay at best".
That has to be a difficult position, no matter how sharp you might be.
I think several were very, very good.
Hey, if you think more people are going to run for the mayor position in Commerce City in November. That is the best news I heard all year.
People please don't speak for others, and remember this is opinion.
You can say, "you've lost my confidence", but don't speak for ME!!
I have my own opinion and I do not agree that "race" will be the mayors deciding factor. Nor have I lost confidence in him.
P.S. He is not running again, so stop the bashing!
great let's all immediately proclaim someone is great for Council, a great person, qualified to represent us, moral/ethical, honest, has integrity etc. - based on a 10 minute interview - give me a break, it is a position for 5 months -everybody take a deep breath PLEASE it is just a City Council seat - one of 9 - mayor has no more power than others and the CITY MANAGER runs the City - well not the current one but hopefully the next one will and without countless assistants.
I think the comments about the mayor are from the old recall people. You know who you are.
Let it go, hes out in just a matter of months.
your right city manager runs the city. All aspects of it. The question is if the council agrees with everything that is going on. If they are, GREAT we are going to be fine. If NOT, well then we might have an issue.
I think the natale recall only had 200 people, not a significant event at all.
which recall? there has been many of them, all fell flat.
That is just what Commerce City is.
Commerce City needs to get its priorities straight. Why was the gas line meeting bare at the high school?
too early in pipe-line problem to do anything, don't worry it will get more attention.
I don't think we can do anything about it, Excel is going to do what they want. Lets just get as much money as we can from them.
If they going to come, lets make them pay.
Once again the Commerce City Council proved to the citizens what a big joke they are. None of the three finalists even knew that we are in a financial crisis and all three live in the same fnatasy world of The Emporer Has New Clothes as the current city council. I pray to God that whoever they appoint does not run in November, especially someone who lives in Reunion and doesn't even know who lives there with them. What?????????????
The secret vote is part of the charter
dusty,
can you post finalist here?
gn, are these the finalists?
Joe Sandoval, Paolo Diaz, Dr. Kristine Sumner
Joe Sandoval sounds familiar. hmmmmmm.
gateway, can you confirm that is the list?
I have a email into Commerce City, as soon as I get a confirmation, I will report.
The Commerce City Finalist for the at-large vacancy are Joe Sandoval, Paolo Diaz, Dr. Kristine Sumner.
dusty, that that confirmed by commerce city themselves?
Yes, confirmed by Commerce City.
I see Paolo Diaz made the list, shocking!
EVERYONE ON COMMERCE CITY COUNCIL KNOWS THAT IT IS GENE LEFFELS TIME TO BE ON. HE IS THE ONLY REAL TRUE QUALIFIED ONE THERE!
I would like to public congratulate Paolo Diaz! A proud day for Commerce City!
HEY Cheo,
He didn't win yet! He is only a finalist!
Joe Sandoval over Gene Leffel? Are you kidding me?
I get Diaz and Sumner, but Sandoval.
CC council, don't make fools out of yourself by appointing Sandoval.
it is not leffel time, just because you go to class, does not make you the smartest.
Gene Leffel is too militant and emotional, he will need to clam this down if he wants to be taken seriously as a viable candidate.
I thought Steve Douglas was very good.
GN, can you find out if finalist Joe Sandoval was ever a Commerce City Police Officer?
Gateway, we heard today that almost all of the administrators of Adams City High School were terminated. Can you find out if this is true?
Congratulations to all of the people who had the courage to interview for the council position. Given you all had just 10 minutes, you did very well.
what a joke commerce city is...can't wait to see how many illegals are voting in the city.
Never mind the completely absurd story about Commerce City, but is this the same Joe Sandoval? And is he still a Police Officer in Commerce City?
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/15851207/detail.html
A 45-year-old Commerce City woman was cited for assault May 20 for her role in a fight at a dog park. Officers were dispatched at 8:09 p.m. to the park at 10600 Irma Drive in reference to a disturbance. According to a report, the suspect became involved in an argument with a woman in a wheelchair and threw several cartons of water, one of which hit the victim in the head.
Vikki, the gas line meeting was set up by Excel, not CC.
It was their meeting.
I believe they said others will be set up.
Can't wait to take the kids and play in the new Brighton waterpark! Thanks, Brighton!
Gateway, If you really have a credable source for the number of illegals voting in this area, can you please find out about the other metro cities.
Brighton, Thornton, Denver, Aurora, Lakewood etc.
It should also have a ratio of illegal to legal voting residents to give us any real insight.
Don't know who would have those types of numbers....do they ask people after they voted if they are here legally, or are they just speculated with numbers, that they have come up with?
The specifics of the Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler's claims of illegal immigrants voting numbers are being pursued by many news outlets...
As soon as they release anything, I will report. As of now, it is looking like it might be some time until it is made available to the public.
Found this on the web, is this the same guy that was chosen by our city council as one of the finalist to represent us?
Hector Gutierrez, Rocky Mountain News
A Commerce City police sergeant has been issued a summons and complaint charging him with a misdemeanor count of driving while under the influence after he was involved in a rollover crash last month. The arraignment for Sgt. Joe Sandoval is scheduled for Feb. 5.Sandoval, 37, also faces traffic offenses for careless driving and failure to provide proof of insurance.
oh man! got to love instant information! But that name is pretty common, so lets give him the benefit of the doubt.
So what! Perry got a DUI and he brought this city forward more then any other city manager ever!
Hello to you all,
I hope you all gt some time to come down to historic DERBY for the diverse celebration called DERBY DAZE!
It starts tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the cross streets of Magnolia and 72nd in Commerce City! SEE YOU THERE!
Great CC OUTREACH! Remember we still have one more this summer! See you then!
Dustin, so you are saying Gesslers' numbers are not necessary scientific, but rather "claims".
Do you know how he came to the numbers he has ( I realize he has not released the numbers yet)?
Wow, if we can get Sandoval on council, Ford for mayor, Leffel on council along with Benson. I know what will be my week's entertainment.
Heck my next four years entertainment.

I LOVE TOM'S OUTFIT! Did the C3 team stay at circus circus?
Here is the best explanation of how Scott Gessler quantifies citizenship voting numbers.
http://youtu.be/BIOiNaSwghk
They had a understanding with DMV, that the specifics of the information would not be given out. But my questions was not to the specifics, rather the general geographical area, such as Adams Co. Commerce City, Brighton, Denver, and Thornton.
Getting this point across, has been challenging. I will report back with any new updates as they come.
Dustin,
You are chasing a non-story, there is a very good chance that these people (YES, they are people) became legal just before the election. I know the big media would chase this because they are only out there for the shock and awe value. Please don't play into their game as well.
Respectively, Cheo, Commerce City Resident
NO HUMAN IS ILLEGAL!
PERIOD!
Save the Date!
The next Coffee with a Commerce City Cop will be Friday, June 24th at Starbucks Coffee 10339 Tower Road, from 8am to 10am.
Stop by for a meet and greet with Commerce City officers, ask questions, and find out about upcoming summer programs.
Way to go councilman Moreno. Your so young and doing great things.
Moreno is a true Commerce City SUCCESS Story. I wish him luck with his meetings at the White House.
I wish I could meet Obama! Have fun Dominick, wear something nice.
If I was in Dominick Moreno position I would have so many questions to ask I would not know were to begin.
Lucky guy!
me too.
Not so much the president himself, more questions for the administration. I would like to know the flow of information, how do things get done from an idea to reality. What issues are priorities, emergencies etc. and how that is determined.
Moreno! Great news on your invite,Bring back some Economic Development if you can!
Dominick,
Tell Pres. to force walmart to come to 104th and tower
is dominick going with bennet or perlmutter or is this just a commerce city thing?
Dominick has a once in lifetime chance, make the best of it. You should plan out your entire time. Know what your going to say and make a good standing impression.
You never know, this could go a long way for Commerce City.
Hey CC staff/council.
make sure domreno has his CC city pin on when he meets us president.
too funny!
you all think a council kid from commerce city is going to make some kind of major impression of the white house? too funny!
so, L&L, I guess your on "team tracey"
I know he won't, but I wish Mr. Moreno would run for Mayor in 2011.
Looks like Denver Mayor-elect Michael Hancock is having some troubles early in his career.
wonder if moreno will mention how illegals have destroyed sd14 or how many illegals we have voting in commerce city or how we have a need for an ICE office.
Talked with Tracey Snyder at Derby Daze today-what a busy girl she is! After going to ICSC (where I heard she and the ED team and Councilman McEldowney set a new record for 80 meetings in a couple of days!) she then went to Women In Municiple Government where she met with someone about that program for kids! Saw her at the Outreach this week as well! We are so proud of her-she works really hard for the people of Commerce City!
Read on Facebook today that Tracey Snyder in her work with the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Steering Committee has been able to help move some legislation on for the first responders! It is about protecting the D Block and keeping it for first responders. This is going to be very helpful for our police and fire departments across the Country! Great work Tracey! Keep us posted! We need to keep this girl working for our town! Team Tracey? You bet!!
