Commerce City Council to Discuss Process of Citizen communications during City Council meetings...

http://t.co/R9Rn1RpP

Flannery Shmannery - $50,000 to remodel office in a BRAND NEW BUILDING - $72,000 stolen in house deal, Federal Discrimination Lawsuits - 3 City Managers for town of 45,000 - one of whom is grossly incompetent and was never qualified for the job - it is possible VanDeventer and Flannery are both ethically challenged - how about we elect a Council that will hire an ethical and QUALIFIED City Manager - last two did had ZERO experience in City Management - FACT!

Anonymous said...

Irene, do you know that the city didn't, just because it didn't happen, does not mean they didn't work hard on that exact issue!
Please don't assume!

I also agree. They both embarass me, how sad that no one else ran.
No choices

RE: Citizen Communication for Commerce City

Don't let Jim Benson bully you on this one. City needs to keep this the way it is. GN put up the entire policy and it makes perfect sense.

CC council can not be broad sided during citizen communication and then react emotionally.

Council needs to hear what the citizens and residents have to say and then research it and then take the right action.

The way it is now if almost perfect.

Further, if 3 mins. is not enough time to get your point across, then maybe you need to set up an appointment.

This is nothing more then a bully tactic by Jim Benson.

CC Council. LEAVE THE POLICY FOR CITIZEN COMMUNICATION THE WAY IT IS.

Buffalo Proud said...

Too bad one of the many who are running for at-large or ward 2 are not running for mayor. I think any of those would have been better choice for our mayor position.

Maybe we should just get rid of mayor position and just have 9 generic council members.

Anonymous said...

Buffalo Proud, we are stuck with the two who ran. Guess lesson is learned, not to wait for the other guy/gal.
Hope the rest of the council can keep us from being embarassed.

Your right, lesson learned.

Fantasy Budget

At the Sept. 12th Retreat, it was decided to negotiate with Kronke about the 3.7 million we still owe for the "Suite and Soccer fields." I'd like to break this contract, let them keep their soccer fields our children do not use and our 1.3 million for the use of the suite. Sean Ford and Perry Van Deventer used taxpayer money for a soccer suite? CC needs to cut all financial ties to Kronke. Can, we afford to vote Sean Ford back into office?

I would like to see the 4.1 million dollars in one-time money stay in reserve for future city emergencies. CC is not out of the recession by a long shot! Out of the ten poorest states, Commerce City falls right in with the 5th poorest state, Louisiana for average income earned. Moreover, if the city uses the returned 1.2 million Park Impact Fees for anything else, the North might seriously revolt. It's time to stop counting peanuts and clickers for a fantasy budget and get real with taxpayers money.

Anonymous said...

Estelle,
I usually disagree with you, but you are making more and more sense these days.

Close to the Situation said...

Suite is for ED opportunities. Not a bad thing. Also, really look at when city did this. Present the facts!

Anonymous said...

Estelle Remington asks-Can, we afford to vote Sean Ford back into office?

The answer is no. We have a good council and staff that will control toaves as mayor.

This is are only choice to move forward.

Anonymous said...

A vote for Toavs, if nothing else will say we no longer want the Ford dynasty in power.
It is time for a clean slate.
I don't want someone taking trips to India to finance themselves, in exchange for water deals done with the dad connection.
I agree that Toavs can be directed by a strong honest council.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, Estelle. Someone gave you the wrong info. The Suite at the Rapids was under Jerry Flannery and Paul Natale.

Anonymous said...

Estelle
Thank you for bringing up the ugly parts of Sean's reign. Seemed like everyone forgets how many negative press stories we received while he was mayor. What makes anyone think he has changed? We will be back to every deal being made by what he receives.

dkeys said...

Estelle,
We have to work with Kronke on getting businesses in Victory Crossing. Maybe not a good idea to break contracts with him.

But I get your point, it is a very bad contract for Commerce City. Unless, the businesses do take off and we had a bunch of revenue from it. I think that was maybe the idea of it and then the economy took a tumble.

A Proud Democrat said...

Dusty,
Are you going to get a great picture of Commerce City Mayor Paul Natale handing the gavel to new Mayor Sean Ford?!

A great moment for the Republicans in Adams County!

Yuri said...

Why does Commerce City not have a real Chamber of Commerce?
This is why we are always left behind.
Our revenues are going down and expenses going up? Lets invest in a Chamber of Commerce and get the revenues up with new business.

Whos with me!

Anonymous said...

CC does not need a Chamber of Commerce. We have some the best in the business on the city staff.

Archer said...

A Commerce City Chamber of Commerce was talked about maybe 5 years ago. It never took off because lack of support and interest.

A Chamber of Commerce would be a great thing in Commerce City.

Look what it has done for Broomfield.

Anonymous said...

So, let me get this straight. The supporters of Robert Toevs think that even though he is unqualified and currently incompetent to be mayor, that they are going to vote for him because he can be coached by the city manager and the new council. Unbelieveable Are you kidding me?!?!

Anonymous said...

Yuri, an effort was made to start a Chamber in CC. It got no interest and no real start.
Apathy again!

Anonymous said...

Anonymous, guess that shows how many don't want Ford in office again!! Sad huh?

Anonymous said...

If people thought they could do a better job than Sean Ford and if they thought they could have beat him in this election, they would have run against him. He indicated last year that he was going to run, giving people a whole year to go to council meetings, get involved and run for mayor if they wanted to. As for those on council that said that they didn't run because they were termed out, well, any of them could have run in the last mayor election. They chose not to.

Great News about China for Commerce City! What business is coming?

Archer said...

Yes Estelle,
Mayor Paul Natalie Thanks you for bringing up the ugly parts of Sean's reign.

Anonymous said...

Again, Again and Again - the mayor does not run the City nor does the council - their role is ceremonial and an informality at best- all they are really required to do is attend council meetings and very little else. Elect a Council who is intelligent enough to see Flannery and his droves of overpaid and unqualified staff for what they really are and get rid of them and hire a real City Manager (only one is needed) see Gateway comparative analysis story on this issue for reference. Please quit giving Ford, Taoves Natale and the rest of them bigger heads than they already have for being a City Council person in a weak mayor system (used in all cities in the State except Denver because of size and population) Commerce City - it really is nothing to write home about in the big picture. Qualified experienced City manager equals well run City - PERIOD! P.S. Flannery isn't it!

Anonymous said...

I didn't hear anything about China coming to CC.
That got lost when some on council wanted guarantees that business would come, before they would support building relationships.
Other cities took it over.

Anonymous said...

I swore I heard something about China. Maybe my source is wrong. I will have to go back to the video and see if there is anything on China.

All of this relationship building with the Chinese is good. It will pay off some day, you will see.

Anonymous said...

Been hearing about the China coming to Commerce City for years now.
Not happening. Nothing more then just a treat trip (like Jerry and Germany because media was tough on him). Natalie gets to go to China one last time before he fades off to a nobody.

dkeys said...

The mayor does not run the City nor does the council?

They do set the direction? That to me is running the city.

It is a wonderful city to live in.

Gateway,
Does the city of Commerce City subsidize the Coffee Shop in city hall? If so, how much?

Estelle Remington said...

Suites and Stuff

Thanks, I understand that Flannery and Natalie purchased the Soccer Suite to entertain and make contacts for city business. And, didn't the Ford Administration use the Golf course to make their contacts? Do, we have to invite every new prospect into the Soccer suite to get new business? What has our economy come too? Evidently, this is not working or we would have Wal Mart and others just dying to get into the Soccer Suite and on the Golf course. If, this is how we do business, we don't need incentive programs. It is honest hard work by our Economic Department and Shea Properties that has brought us new development. So, cancel the suite!

Estelle,

It is not uncommon to wine and dine a business prospect. It is how the world works. I say keep the suite. At the end of the day, if anything it is a very good PR showcase.

1. I applaud the Commerce City council on tackling the so-called citizen communication process.

Still a work in progress.

Love how they are taking the ACSD#14 idea of answering in public any of the questions that were asked in public.

2. Speaking of that idea, seems to me whatever is on this blog comes out as actually happening or ideas.

Thanks Gateway!

Spending some time in the awesome suite at the Rapids Stadium would sure make me want to put by business in good ole CC -even if it made no sense for any other reason - GET REAL FOLKS -its the Rapids Stadium - PLEEEEEEEZE get a grip of your selves or get back on your meds.

Anonymous said...

Estelle, I could be wrong, but I don't think the city spent any money to have use of the soccer suite.
I think it was given to the city to use, since the contract that happened before Flannery and Natale gave the city very little, it was a little something to make up for that poor deal.

Anonymous said...

Archer, I listened to the meeting. The mayor said that the Chinese are coming to Denver metro area.
That he is planning to meet with them, maybe show them around, but their destination wasn't CC. The other cities are stepping up to get their attention. CC lost because of a couple people on council, one up for re-election.
No, I am not the mayor or related to council.

Anonymous said...

The Chinese were never really interested in Commerce City. Natale always said at council meetings that it was for the region. Totally worthless. If they had been interested in Commerce City, they would have come here in the beginning. When they did come here, it was a brief stopover with them moving on elsewhere. Some think its mostly just their PR thing. Besides, the USA needs to build products here, using US materials and employ here with U.S. companies. .

Estelle Remington said...

Real Deal

We need to get real with doing business with the world. CC can be listed with the ten poorest States in the U.S. In fact, we fall somewhere in the middle of this list. Even if, we get that Soccer Suite for free, which, we all know that nothing comes free anymore, we will pay for this down the road, we can not play with the high rollers. This is out of our league. China is looking for future natural resources of which Colorado has one of the largest natural gas shale deposits in the world. They are just playing diplomatic games with CC. Stuff that looks good to the home town folks in China and the U.S. Hopefully, this is drawing to an end.

Anonymous said...

Soccer Suite for KSE was Not I repeat Not Free.

CC+CHINA=GOOD said...

Say what you will. Commerce City, having lots of empty land and being so close to a major airport is set up nicely to do business with China.

It would only take one Chinese business to make all of this effort worth it.

Yes, it could be anywhere in the Denver Metro area. But, it could also be in Commerce City.

Lets at least try!

Anonymous said...

I say bring the Chinese businesses here. They will have to hire people, they will have to pay people, they will have to return some of the money and jobs they have taken away from the US.
I for one hope it does work!!
We have perfect land near DIA for a new business from China or anywhere else. We need not close the door on anyone, that will bring us business/jobs.

Commerce City Council member Dominick Moreno Announces he will be Running for Colorado House District 32 in 2012...

So the Sith has chosen his apprentice.

Tream Tracey said...

So Dominick finally gets off the fence he has ridden so long he has splinters in his butt, and decides, after not getting the job he wanted with Congressman Perlmutters office, to run for the House! Well another Ed Casso in a different body is still another Ed Casso! Everybody take note that Dominick was pretty eager to take away your free trash, and only because Tracey Snyder stood up to them do you still have it! My guess is that they will wait until she is off Council and then move to take it away! Do you want more Medical Marajuana shops in our town? Dominick voted to let them have it easier to get here! I say stay strong Tracey and we will all stay behind you!

Team Tracey said...

I think it is interesting that for the first time since the Historical Society started a few years ago, Dominick showed up to their meeting. I wonder why he is all of a sudden interested? Tracey has been a member from the start! Digging for votes are we Dominick? Too bad we all know why you suddenly showed up! And by the way, his "announcement party" is on the same afternoon as the Historical Society picnic at Vetrans Park! So much for his interest in the Historical Society! Keep going Tracey! We are all 100% behind you! We know what is coming your way with Ed Casso, I mean Dominick Moreno, and we know the good people of this town see it for what it is!

Looks that way! Tracey has served Council for eight plus years. She has the experience and knowledge to take care of us. I say everyone get behind our hometown girl Tracey Snyder!

I heard that my idea for a hospital at the dog track has been made by others. I don't mind. But I have more ideas.

Rename the area. Something that pays homage to what made Commerce City sustainable. My idea is to name the 65 acres something like "Commerce Commons" or "Commerce Park". The theme could be a re-purposed Industrial look. It is a green idea and could be really unique. URA will need to really work with whatever goes in there to stick to the theme. It could really look nice. Exposed brick and beams with re-purposed Warehouse elements. Could have areas of local industrial metal material art work.

It would be like what Stapleton did with the whole aviation theme in its area.

So that's my idea. Please anyone steal it and make it your own.

We will get a girl who knows where she comes from, and wont forget us!

Anonymous said...

I was talking with Tracey Snyder yesterday. She told me that the Comcast program they had on the news was the very same program she tried to get Ed Casso, our supposed State Rep to help her bring to Commerce City! What is wrong with Ed Casso that he would not want to help kids in his own district? I think we would be making a huge mistake sending Dominick to the State-he has been taught by Ed Casso. I know I am not alone in saying that one Ed is enough!

I am sure that when he becomes our State Representative he will again be working to make good things happen but than at a higher level. Tracey Snyder has been on alot of boards and commissions, committees, and much more. And she has served them all very well. Tracey is one of the few Councilmembers who actually shows up for meetings and activites outside of Monday night meetings! She was the first person ever to be put on a National League of Cities Steering Committee, and has served on both Transportation and Infrastructure, and Public Safety and Crime Prevention. I see Tracey everywhere. And lets not forget she does it all with a broken back! Whomever said that she does not show up to meetings is WAY misinformed! Shes one of the best weve got!

Sorry Mr. Zeiler, but I do not agree with you. Dominick is jumping ship on the Council with barely two years of service under his belt. I say we make the right choice this time- Vote Snyder!

Team Tracey said...

A few facts about Tracey Snyder:

Tracey represents the City of Commerce City and the State of Colorado on the Women In Municiple Government, The National League of Cities Public Safety/Crime Prevention Steering Committee, and is the Colorado State Chair for the Democratic Municiple Officials;

Tracey worked for years on the Stakeholders group to bring a Boys and Girls Club to Commerce City;

Tracey worked to help bring about a bigger and better Salud Clinic in her Ward to serve children who cant afford health or dental care;

Tracey served Community Health Services as a Board member to serve uninsured and underinsured children in our school district;

Tracey has been highly involved in Economic Development in Commerce City and attended ICSC with the ED Staff twice in the last four years. This year she and Jason McEldowney attended a total of 80 meetings in a couple of days- a record for our City.

And thats just getting started. For those of you who dont think she does enough. Stay posted, there is alot more.

He is a hardworking and honest man who is not afraid to speak his mind. He has earned the respect of many as he has done a great job with the boards that he has been on. He is also a devoted husband and is the best father I have ever seen. Whoever wrote that he is trying to say he brought King Soopers to Commerce City just doesn't know Steve. He is a humble and generous man who would never take credit for anything he did not do. I have heard him say many, many times that he is so excited that Shea and King Soopers finally got the King Soopers store off and running to the finish line. He has often said that King Soopers has been a wonderful employer and that he looks forward to all the jobs it will afford the people in Commerce City and how great their services and groceries are. Whoever wrote about him negatively on this blog just doesn't know him very well at all. In fact, that person sounded extremely arrogant and condescending. For the record, Steve worked at King's at night so he could go to all of his children's school and other events but changed to days so that he will be available to attend council meetings. My vote goes to Steve Douglas, a man of vision, courage and integrity.

Commerce City's Dog Track

All happened on August 2, 2011

First CLP NORTH 8 LLC bought the dog track from MH PROPERTY LLC aka MILE HIGH KENNEL CLUB, INC. for $3,333,200.

Second URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY bought the dog track from CLP NORTH 8 LLC for $3,350,000.

So someone walked away with a check for $16,800 for just showing up at the closings, which are really boring and lots of papers to sign and they did actually have to sit there thru TWO of them, so I guess its ok. Right?

Anonymous said...

Sounds to me that someone probably brokered the deal for the city, so the city's "name" was quiet. Otherwise the price would have gone sky high.

Funny how Commerce City Council will sit in meeting and discuss 1500 a year for city council members to attend events. But will total ignore a citizens when they bring up the 72K that was given to the Commerce City City Manager for a loss on a house in AZ that turned out to be a gain. Past City Manager of Commerce City Perry Vandeventer Enters Not Guilty Plea To Embezzling Casper Nursing Home

Perry Vandeventer, the past city manager of Commerce City and former Chief Financial Officer for the Shepard of the Valley nursing home in Casper, has been charged with grand larceny and obtaining property by false pretenses.

It was reported that an investigation by nursing home staff found that Vandeventer received fraudulent expense reimbursements worth more than $24,000, and that he used 2 business credit cards to charge more than $28,000 in personal expense.

Vandeventer currently is on a $5,000 bond and has a trial scheduled for November.

Sorry Estelle, but everyone knows you dont like Tracey Snyder. So of coarse you support Dominick. But you are very wrong when you speak about experience. They have both been to college. She has a medical background and was trained as an MA and as I have said before, used to give me shots every single week! She prepared antigens in the lab for a five office, large and busy Allergy and Asthma group. Lives were in her hands everyday.
Secondly, after she got on Council she went back to school. She was accepted into a very prestigous leadership program. She was honored for being the first elected official ever to get in.
That being said, there is no experience like life to teach you. Tracey raised two children as a single mom. She knows what it is like to be a hard working, single mother trying to make a life for her kids. These are things that Dominick could never understand. We need a leader at the State House who will fight for us and who understands what we need. Dominick does not have the experience that he needs to take the next step. And he made a promise to the people of our City to serve Ward 1.
Tracey is our girl.

I have to chip in here. Not everyone in the "south" is an illegal or uneducated. Some of us grew up here, have roots outside of the southern americas and speak English! Some of us still care for our yards and take pride in the homes we live in.

We are in need of a boys and girls club, a water park and more options for our youth! I also believe thier is poverty everywhere and someone stated its Social Services issues and I agree. My kids who are not included in many of the cities and districts stats and should not have to suffer.

I choose not to live in the northern range because as someone stated "those kids" are not on the same level as D14, and i choose not to let my kids live in ignorance.

Im so tired of hearing how the "north residents" have such disgust with commerce cities south end. Hello you are the ones that moved to commerce city!!! We have been here all along! Move if you dont like it... And from talking to members of the police dept, sounds like your fancy north has a lot more drug, gang and domestic issues then the south! QUESTION:

The problem with politics in America today is that it is based too much on personality rather than policy. The federal government cannot get anything done because it is a character battle between members of Congress and President Obama. We pick our sides and ignore the fact that neither has very effective ideas. Now there are 2 Democrats running for House District 32 in 2012 (before we have decided who to vote for in 2011)! I'd like to know where Tracey Snyder and Dominick Moreno stand on Proposition 103. This is the proposed tax increase for public education on the 2011 statewide ballot. It was put there by state Senator Rollie Heath, Boulder Democrat. This is the type of issue that will come up over and over in the legislature. Their city council experience is fairly irrelevant.

CAN SOMEONE GET AN ANSWER FROM THEM?

Hard Questions from a Concerned Citizen said...

Gateway,
Can you get proof from Commerce City that the City Manager paid for his house that we gave him, with the correct interest.

Is it common knowledge that one time money the city receives is to be used for one time projects. What will this money be used for?

Also, can you find out why we need to pay our city manager in Commerce City or should I say City Manager(s) more then double the car allowance as such city as Brighton?

Can you find out why we paid the city manager $72,000.00 for a house loss in value in Arizona that in fact was a gain?

It was said that all this is done because the city manager is worth every penny. Can you find out why he is worth every penny? What specific things has he done?

Lastly, in 2009 there was a proposal for the Evaluation Policy for City Manager. This was prepared for and submitted by Council Members Reba Drotar and Jason McElowdoney. Whatever happened to that, was it approved? If not, why? More specifically in section 5.0 of that proposed Evaluation of Policy for City Manager is says a Press Release will be prepared in 3 working day following the executive session regarding the city manager's evaluation. Did the Gateway News ever get any such Press Release?

thanks.

I already know is decided that we in Commerce City are going to make the business incentives permanent. That is fine, as long as it will bring in NEW (key word being NEW) business. Other wise I don't think it is the best thing to try to race to the bottom just because we are trying to compete with Denver, Brighton, Thornton, and others.

Anonymous said...

jealous people, get over the 72k. It was perfectly legal and part of a recruitment process.

There are thousands of people who get unbelievable deals during a recruitment process.
Not waging a class war but very few of the hourly wage workforce will get those type deals and always cry foul.

"Don't hate the player, hate the game."

A good example: yearly bonus's from 5k to over 50K are given to many employees and you, yes YOU! pay them because it's worked into product pricing of just about every product or service you purchase. We are purchasing services from the city in the form of taxation.

It's a competitive market out there and recruiting 100k+ talent is hard.
Everyone including those who can't balance their personal finances, businesses or relationships feel they can do better. Yeah, can barely speak, read and can't solve basic mathematical problems but want to make complex financial decisions for a city.
The northern enclave is still growing despite the slower economy and I will support separating from cc as we grow.

Even the council members from the south can't wait for that so they can get back to good ole days....

Maybe the prosecutor will offer Perry V. a deal for information on known wrong doing of past cc council and or mayors.

Food for thought

ANSWERS FROM THE GATEWAY NEWS TO Hard Questions from a Concerned Citizen said...

OUR ANSWERS WILL BE IN ALL CAPS TO MAKE IT EASY TO READ

Gateway,
Can you get proof from Commerce City that the City Manager paid for his house that we gave him, with the correct interest. WE HAVE TRIED TO OBTAIN THIS ANSWER BUT HAVE RECEIVED NO PROOF YET. WE MADE AN INFORMATION REQUEST BUT THE CITY IS STONEWALLING.

Is it common knowledge that one time money the city receives is to be used for one time projects. What will this money be used for? YOU ARE CORRECT IT SHOULD BE ONE TIME MONEY FOR ONE TIME USE BUT THE CITY DID SAY (IF IT IS PAID) THAT IT WOULD GO INTO THE GENERAL FUND. WE NEED TO ASK MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS POLICY AS IT IS BROKEN QUITE OFTEN.

Also, can you find out why we need to pay our city manager in Commerce City or should I say City Manager(s) more then double the car allowance as such city as Brighton? THE CITY MANAGERS CAR ALLOWANCE IS DETERMINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL SO WE WILL ASK THEM. THE ASSISTANTS CAR ALLOWANCE IS DETERMINED BY THE CITY MANAGER SO WE WILL ASK HIM.

Can you find out why we paid the city manager $72,000.00 for a house loss in value in Arizona that in fact was a gain? THIS WAS A DECISION MADE BY CITY COUNCIL BASED ON THE CITY MANAGER NOT REVEALING THE TRUTH OF THE SITUATION TO CITY COUNCIL AT THE TIME. SO CITY COUNCIL MADE A DECSION BASED ON AN UNTRUTH.

It was said that all this is done because the city manager is worth every penny. Can you find out why he is worth every penny? What specific things has he done? WE WILL ASK FOR A SPECIFIC LIST OF GOALS HE HAS MET AND PROJECTS COMPLETED. IT IS DIFFICULT TO SAY THAT AN EMPLOYEE IS "WORTH" ANY MONETARY AMOUNT WHEN THERE ARE NO GOALS SET OR ACHIEVED BUT WE WILL ASK.

WE WILL ASK JASON MCELDOWNEY. THE GATEWAY NEWS HAS NEVER RECEIVED ANY PRESS RELEASE ABOUT ANY EVALUATIONS OF THE CITY MANAGER OR THE CITY ATTORNEY. THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY POLICY BUT WE WILL ASK.

thanks.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR QUESTIONS AND WATCH THE BLOG FOR ANSWERS AND RESPONSES THAT WE POST AS EVERYONE GETS BACK TO OUR PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUESTS.

Everyone needs to really understand the tax incentive that was given to the new King Soopers in the north. It works like this. You go into King Soopers and you buy groceries and other items and you pay sales tax on thos items. Since King Soopers is located in Commerce City that sales tax should be collected by Commerce City and used to build roads, parks, recreations centers BUT that won't happen because King Sooopers will get to keep all that money up to $2,000,000. So citizens you are PAYING King Soopers to build the store, right out of your own pocket and you are forgoing other things that you might need in your city. Big price to pay just because we don't have experienced professional staff to just attract the stores we need.

I have a suggestion:

Because our own Mayor in Commerce City can not keep Percents and Dollars straight for our own reserves.

I would like to see a policy that whenever a Council member or city staff member talks about money, they have to do it in Dollars and Percents.

They should not ever talk about city money in just percents. It is too much of a spin.

No doubt people are getting smarter in this city.

From the Commerce City's Mayor twitter:

"WOW. did I ever make a mistake. Not the first, certainly not the last. Wrote dollars instead of percent for surplus. 40 lashes for me"

"We had a 17 million dollar surplus four years ago.It is now $22million during the worst financial times in decades.Let's get it right!"

Hard to understand numbers for some of you, who like to bring up the "deal" that the city gave Flannery.
He took a contract, didn't write it. In fact it was written by someone not even on council and sold to the rest by that council member and one current one.
If you buy something for (I'll give you easy numbers)
200,000 dollars, put into it 70,000 dollars to improve it and sell it for 265,000 dollars you did NOT make 65,000 dollars.
Get over the contract, it is done.
Get a life!
The Gateway loves to push this as they hate Flannery.

Anonymous said...

Flannery can be terminated with no severance for dishonest behavior - prove he lied about the sale of his house (or at least withheld the truth)and the problem is solved and you can send him and his hoard of inexperienced and unqualified new hires packing (you will have to of course put someone in charge in the interim with experience to cleanup the mess - the City has plenty of long time employees with the knowledge, skills and abilities to do that). If the current Council won't do it - I sure hope the new one has the courage to do it given NONE of them will have to save face because they hired him.
